I wonder how many roads they'll name in honor of their beloved native English-speaking, ESL-teaching guests? Some ideas:
Paleskin Parkway
Waygookin Lane
Fork Avenue
Hand Gesture Boulevard
Fatass Freeway
Monkey Road
One can dream, I suppose.... |

I think the whole addressing system is a legacy left over from the Japanese colonial days. Many Japanese cities seem to use the same system. |

Ha. Well, it is a system, but only one useful to the postal people. |

You obviously have never been to Istanbul or Moscow or any of many other major cities in the world that grew organically, with out a lot of urban planning. Given that the restoration of Seoul after the war came after the large scale development of urban planning, we might expect something different here. But I think the country was so poor and so much needed to be done at the time that this issue didn't get the attention it might have.

| Come on now folks, lets not get too excited. We all know that Korea has lots of laws and they make new ones. But that doesn't mean they'll actually follow it. |
