|
|
Does anyone have any experience of this company. Its one on one teaching adults, splits for 6 months then blocks there after. 2million a month with housing paid for. Sounds like a pretty sweet deal, though apparently you have to wear a lab coat!!! Am I a biologist or an English Teacher?!?! Did a search but didnt find anything for this company, any feedback would be great.

in their advertising material they show one of their senior people wearing a lab coat AND a stethescope...
the korean teachers wear white coats. the expats blue. though in the ad the afore mentioned fool is in white. |

I htink they are trying to show that you are a professional. Maybe even hinting that you arevery educated.
Actually, it's an interesting ploy.
To us it looks dumb.. but I wonder what Koreans think. |

they think they are projecting a sort of clinical image.
the koreans think its dumb too. they often told me. i stopped wearing my lab coat because my students kept asking me why the hell we wear them. management did not agree...
to the OP - honestly - stay away from this company. be asuured - they WILL lie to yu. they will penalise yu for non-re-enrollments (is that a word?) and any bonuses they promise yu will not eventuate. likewise whatever they tell yu about your timetable is a lie - they will work yu til yu are dead, and still only pay yu the flat rate or 2 mill.
btw if yu are lucky enough to be put on a block shift, yu will only receive 1.8 mill...
the boss - can i name him here? R****t W*****r, will promise yu that he is your friend in central office and he is here to help yu, but when push comes to shove in your branch, he will tell yu it's none of his business.
the material they teach is full of errors, boring as hell...
anyway - give them a wide berth. there are much better places to work. |

If I worked there, I would only wear the lab coat. Nothing else. |

Bank employees in Korea generally wear uniforms (the tellers anyway), other jobs require a uniform as well.
What's the big deal? It keeps your clothes from getting too dirty or worn out. |

Holy cow...you know I've been interviewed by them twice (once recently). I ran into a former co-worker who I worked with at another school and he told me he works for them and likes it. This was just before I interviewed with them the second time.
My issue was housing since I'm married. Essentially they told me they were interested, but needed to get back to me about housing. It is now weeks later and I've heard nothing.
I'm beginning to think it was for the best. |

Yes, and McDonald's and Burger King employees have to wear uniforms as well. What's the big deal? Pagoda employee's have to wear name tags like McDonald's employees. What the big deal? Call centre employees have to wear name tags in North America. What the big deal? F#ck that *beep*. If sb wants my name they can ask it - improves communication. |
