What he's doing here may actually be spamming in a narrow, technical sense, but I don't think it is what the anti-spam rules on Dave's (though I haven't read them) were created to discourage. MODs may see it differently, but to me it's all to do with the topic and the tenor of a thread. "Are these multiple consecutive posts by a single poster going off-topic, and are they disrupting the tenor of the thread?" And in this case, I don't think Rteacher's double-/triple-/quadruple-postings have, or in a sense could. For he's set it up that way from the onset as the OP.

It's a blog-style thread, a visit to Rt's art studio for a look at his work, a rummage through his library of art books, some light chatter (predictably heavy on the Krishna consciousness at times) and a friendly cup of tea (spiked with strange herbs). Then we leave him to his work, and he continues to observe, think, and "paint" (post) here. In that way, this thread is both studio & lounge and his canvas. A big freaky canvas.

Now, should posters be permitted to create blog-type threads? I did it once. The only time I've ever posted anything work-related, and it was fun yet a hassle and I had to stop. But I think it's okay. Some posters will ask, "Why not just make your own blog where you can ramble on all you want, instead of polluting Dave's with your boring self-absorbed musings??" Fair question, but we're free to steer clear of any threads that don't interest us.

I think that "JongnoGuru" has summed it up pretty well, and I may in fact be guilty of setting something up a thread here that facilitates my own freewheeling artistic style. My basic approach to art is to juxtaposition things and ideas that have impressed me and to draw revelations or develop fictional story-lines therefrom...I usually thrive equally on positive and negative feedback. Both serve to sharpen my focus, generate new ideas, and give direction to my ramblings...

When not appearing as a ferocious beast, the Lord appears in his original beautiful form or in deity forms. These pics were just recently posted on the www.chakra.org site by ISKCON's Krishna-Balarama temple (and guest house) in Vrindavan, India (about 30 miles from the Taj Mahal...)

A Quote from Krishna Book :

"While Krsna and Balarama were enjoying life in Vrndavana in the midst of the cowherd boys and girls, the season gradually changed to summer. The summer season in India is not very much welcomed because of the excessive heat, but in Vrndavana everyone was pleased because summer there appeared just like spring. The inhabitants of Vrndavana were never disturbed by the scorching heat of the sun or the high summer temperatures."

In the first altar picture (way at the top...) Lords Chaitanya and Nityananda are shown leading the sankirtana movement of chanting and dancing (and singing Hare Krishna to various tunes...) They appeared about 520 years ago, but they are identical to Krishna and Balarama, respectively, who appeared in Vrindavan over 5000 years ago. (The seated figures are Bhakivedanta Swami Prabhupada and his spiritual master, Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati Prabhupada...)

In the next picture, Radharani and Krishna are pictured along with the eight main gopis who assisted them in their transcendental pleasure pastimes in the groves and forests of Vrindavan...

Pictured at bottom are Krishna (blackish) and his first expansion Balarama (whitish...)

This very accomplished blues musician grew up in my hometown, Springfield, MA, attended UMass-Amherst right before I got there, and I recall attending a great free concert he performed on-campus...

Without exception, I have found every Western person I've ever met (some few) who's gravitated toward Eastern religions/philosophies to be an a$$whole. I've known some of them enough to get that this state of being preceded the conversion. Aggressive, socially clueless, badly damaged somewhere along the line without having found the way to get undamaged enough to keep from being ... aggressive and socially clueless, pointlessly contrarian and feeling very, very superior about all their non-self-having transendence. To this group of people I've known through the years, I can now add those I've been exposed to online. Good to know there's a constant in life.

Well, by rearranging the letters of "daskalos" I think we might possibly gain some insight into his personality: "a kold ass"...

"Hobophobic" is humbler and funnier, but I'm not sure which picture he's identifying with on this thread... Bozo the clown? ... Larry of the 3 Stooges? ... the monkey?

There might be some pyschic connection 'cause my aunt told me that when she had her "Family Tree" traced out it uncovered the fact that some guy who became famous as the "King of the Hoboes" (also at one time the editor of the "Hobo News"...) was in it... (I knew that I must've taken after someone famous ... Surprised

I don't see any "Lennon" specs, but there are still a few "ponytails" evident at a fairly recent ("Jaganath Cart") festival in the ancient city of Puri. The Hare Krishna contingent was accorded unusual respect for non-Indian foreigners by the huge throng...
