The repetition on CNN drives me nuts. Look at the poll. Wow, it's a tough choice! |

I don't know where the hell that came from. Obviously I meant "you may think you know it, but do you really?"
I really don't give a toss about bad grammar, Percy. Mother Nature has endowed me with a big c**k instead, whilst lucky old you got the "really good at grammar" card.
Grammar troll in PC bang = bored guy with small *beep* and no girlfriend. Congratulations buddy.
Now, if we're done with the indispensable work of pointing out typos, back to CNN..... |

As opposed to bored guy who watches too much T.V. and memorizes news show jingles + spends way too much time on Daves including starting current brain-numbing thread = loser |

I don't watch CNN anymore for that very reason, Spinoza. I got so sick of hearing Larry King's advert, especially. And, I like to keep myself as closed off to the outside world as possible. I try to pretend that everything's hunky dory, and that my biggest issue is too much sauce on my ham and cheese toast "sarnie". |

Larry King is to journalism as mogadon is to joyous spontenaety, the dude has the most cliched and boring interviewing style in the world and the only nice thing I can say about him is he puts me to sleep faster than a cup of warm milk. As for repetition though, all the major news channels follow the same pattern, even the once great BBC. I rarely, if ever watch it now. |

Sore point, I see. Hmm.
I must say I didn't realize Hapki had a problem with me. Wasn't it you who helped me with those Korean phrases that time, or someone else? What's the problem? In any case, whilst hardly the most interesting chap in the world, you were never on my "this poster must be put to death" list. You've gone down in my estimations by writing rot, and that's never a good thing.
It's not hard to memorize news jingles when you hear them every morning when getting ready for work. What else is there to watch? I want a bit of news in the mornings. But it's the most annoying channel ever. Folks who don't like the thread or wanna make grammar jokes should stay away. I probably don't read 50% of Daves because it's boring. |

Looking at the results thus far, we can generally agree that the phrase 'I'm just warming up!' really chaps some asses. |

Happily I don't watch commercial news programs at all any more. But from what I've seen I'd say I hate Fox far more than CNN. |

The line that makes me wan to punch my TV screen is for advertising their sports reports. "Why get your sports news from the side line? CNN takes you where the others guys don't. On the court....blah, blah, blah... and even into the pool!" Oh brother!
You don't have to watch CNN. BBC news is on Arirang TV in the mornings. |

CNN sucks--bottom line. It gives me a freaking headache.
And...SPINOZA sucks too. Hard. What a ponce.
(I'm assuming that was part of the thread's theme.)

Larry King's by far. You would think that after 40,000 interviews he would have the hang of it instead of just warming up. But watching him interview feels exactly like that, like he's just warming up, still green and an amateur. What is he now, 116 years old? He has to be one of the worst interviewers Ive ever seen. |

my favorite is one of the ads with christiane amanpour (sp?) praising herself.
male voice: "direct questions..."
christiane: "do you really see country after country falling into the fold of democracy?"
male voice: "direct answers..."
whoever she's interviewing: "democracy will mean different things to different nations."
that has to be the least direct answer to any question i've ever heard. |
