Or maybe other reasons were involved:
1. He was here but gave up after waiting in the immigration line at Inchon for non-Koreans.
2. He wanted to go to Busan and couldn't provide a blood test and police records.
3. No shirt, no shoes, no service.
4. That damn "Japan" stamp in his passport.
5. Called Michelle Wie an American.
6. Couldn't verify his University of Khao San Road degree.
7. Authorities thought he just wanted to head to Itaewon and fool around with Korean women.
8. Poor translation skills at immigration; they thought he was a llama.
9. One stupid marijuana charge when you're seventeen!
10. He can go to Osaka and apply for a work visa like everyone else, buddy!

It's been that way for years, has it not?
Technically, i believe he "COULD" visit Korea. It's just that the gov't doesn't want to run the risk of raising the Dragon's hackles, with the nation suffering all the economic fallout which would almost inevitably ensue |

Looks like Korea just has it in for all the superstars of contemporary religion.

On The Other Hand, it may have something to do with the fact that he once claimed that South Korea had put him on one of its postage stamps, thus harming Korea's image abroad. It probably was just one of those personalized stamps that you can get made for about 2000 won at the post office. The personalized stamps don't have any postage value. |

Not interesting? Ok ... i have 2 simple questions for you:
1) When did the Korean War "officially" begin ...
AND
2 ) When was TIBET invaded by the PLA? |

One of the first things Kim Dae Jung did after receiving HIS Nobel Peace Prize was to prevent the Dalai Lama from visiting South Korea, so as not to upset big brother China.
Just goes to show you some people winning that prize have little interest in peace and justice (Henry Kissenger being another obvious bad choice) and are far from worthy recipients of the award. |

Its not that its not interesting.. its just that its overwhelmingly 'just politics' as usual.
By the way, where are you going with those weird follow-up questions? |

But that's the thing about giving the peace prize to politicians. They deal in the world of give-and-take political maneuvering, and then things they do often fall short of the ideal standards of human behaviour. I'm sure for most politicians who won the peace prize, you could a zillion things they've done that aren't really admirable. |

Agree. Most politicians awarded the prize were not really that worthy, with notable exceptions like Mandela or Suu Kyi, who're in the human rights activist/politician crossover category anyway. |

"Where am i going" with the questions? Well, how's about some 55 years now back in world history?
It's pretty simple really. We all know what 2+2 = ... right?
Well ... i'll put them to you again:
1) When did the Korean War "officially" begin ...
AND
2 ) When was TIBET invaded by the PLA?
Shouldn't be that difficult to answer
And why exactly do see what been posed as "weird"? |
