Hey all.
I am trying to put together a Texas Hold em game this weekend in the Itaewon area.
We currently have 5 players, so we're 4 or 5 players short of a full game. Unfortunately, some of the regulars are MIA.
The game is a 50K tourney followed by a 3/6 LIMIT ring game.
If you are interested, message me ASAP. Please include your email and phone number.
If I do not have enough players by Friday night, we're going to postpone the game.
Cheers,
J. |

I don't like "Texas Hold'em" 'cause it's too boring unless it's a high stakes tournament. (When I was in high school we used to play a variety of poker games with wild cards, and they weren't so boring...)
If you don't get more than 7 or 8 people I suggest making the game Chinese Rummy (aka "May I") It's a lot more fun, even without much money (played it alot with other movie extras between shoots...)
Everyone antes up (usually 5 chon, but mon won would be better...)
There are five hands, and it takes about an hour to get through them.
In the first hand you lay down with two sets (three of a kind) of three.
2nd hand: a set and a run (straight flush) of four
3rd hand: two runs of four
4th hand: three sets
5th hand: two sets of three and a run of four (no discards)
Typical rummy action with players picking up and discarding a card. Anyone can say "May I" (and take a penalty card) if he wants someone's discard, but players to the left of - and closest to - the discarder get first option.
The winner of each of the first four hands gets like 60% of his ante back, and running scores are kept for each person through all the hands. (Jokers are wild and count 20 points - as do Aces. Face cards (Kings, Queens, Jacks) are each 10 points, and the other cards are their numeric value (6s are 6 points...)
The winner of the last hand splits the pot with the lowest cumulative score. If the winner of the last hand also has the lowest score than he wins it all (If there's eight people who ante mon won each, and the winners of each of the first four hands gets 6 chon won, then the final hand would have 56 K won in it that could be all won by one person (me, of course... )
It might be better for starters to make the ante 5 chon won, and have two games... |
