i'm all geared up for my couple of months of summer vacation, and my wife is getting geared up for her one week. given the short time we have to work with, i was thinking that we could have a nice little trip but still stay in korea. a road trip to busan sounds good. she's never been there, and i've only been there once... just to catch the boat to fukuoka. i've heard it's a nice place, a little warmer than up here, and has a beach or two.
to all of you busanites, is there anything special you would recommend for a week in busan? we're not terribly active people. beaches and bars are two of my favorite things in the world. but we'd also like to see some sights if there are any to be seen.

also... and i know it's a longshot... but i'd like to catch up with a guy i met in fukuoka. he's an older guy, was working in busan a year and a half ago, and he was once shot in the leg (i think this happened in the states). i don't remember his name or where he's from, though both are on the tip of my tongue. if this rings a bell with anyone, please let me know. he bought me a few drinks on my last night in fukuoka and was very supportive to me, a complete stranger, when i was feeling very low. i'd like to buy him a few drinks if he's still in the country.
