Given the culture of silence, I would be surprised if the HIV/AIDS statistics quoted by the government would reflect the true transmission/infection rates here. |

Sorry to even appear to sound racist here..,- but Africa is riven with AIDS to a high level- beyond other continents, perhaps due to the culturally high levels of promiscuity there, who knows.
If I was a girl out on the pull, I'd avoid any guys of African origin- including Nigerians. I know this must sound absolutely terrible!!! But I'm someone who grew up in Africa, and who saw MANY people fade away and die of AIDS. AIDS takes its strongest and most virulent form in Africa.
Of course they're not the only people carrying the disease in this world- but I'd guess, they are a greater chance.
Of course, using condoms etc is not failsafe either- accidents can alllwaays happen.
Don't ask me for a link- I don't even know how to put up my own avatar for pity's sake. |

www.villagephotos.com helped me out. Then paste the link of the picture you upload there to the one here on your profile.
Regarding the AIDS stuff in Korea. One word: WOW! Didn't know. However, I do know Koreans are more promiscious then they let on. |

I discussed the Aids/HIV situation in Korea with a number of my adult students (who happen to be very well educated, with advanced degrees), and one of them actually suggested that the 'imported blood from America' is to blame for this situation. I asked her why they needed to import blood from another country and she had no answer for this question.
Then I asked her what made her believe that American blood is tainted and she declared, in a rather imperious manner, that Americans were greedy and just sold any old kind of blood, without first testing it. She was not able to substantiate any of her statements with facts.
I then cunningly suggested (being the crafty old thing that I am) that perhaps all those Koreans who are the happy recipients of an American blood transfusion, were not 'pure-blooded' any more, that in fact they were partially Americans. This shocked her so much that she became silent and the wheels were a-turning in her brain.
The discussion was ended when I further suggested that since the sex-industry accounts for a substantial portion of their GNP, that all Koreans benefitted, one way or the other, from these activities. Needless, to say, everybody was sweating ...
