I don't know. It's like, if I don't, she gets all pissy, ya know?
I mean. URGH.
I just, ya know, feel like she kind of owns me when she's touching me like that. I mean, I'm my own man, right? I know there's all this retarded Korean skinship crapolio, but I mean, URGH. Oh....what should I do? I thought treating her to ramyeon and triangle gimbap at the DVD bang would be enough, but she wants me to pay for stuff AND hold her hand. WTF is with that? Next she'll want me to open doors, pull her seat out for her, or--Jesus Tapdancing Christ!!!--walk her home after the subways stop running!
Anyone have any similar experiences?

I pull their hear and stomp on their feet.
I'm serious- That's why I don't touch women.
Everytime I put the arm around I get a handful of hair caught up in my jacket or around my fingers, and when I walk next to them I keep stomping on their feet.
Kill me. |

| You poor sorry b@stards. Call me a pie-eyed romantic but I really like to hold my goyl's hand. Besides, you never know when that assassin's bullet might be heading your way, so it's great to have hold of somebody to pull in front of you at the last microsecond. |

What type of creature is this?
Is it like a miniature gargoyle?
I know- It's a female leprechaun.
"I keeps me lucky charms in my pants I do."
Delicious.
Munch on good sir- Munch on. |

Ah, another fellow romantic, I see. Alas, we, sir, are a dying breed. |

I've never been into 'holding hands' either.
Before Korea.. I had extremely long-term relationship who felt the same way. She just saw it cheezy and corny.. and I'd agree with that.. we never held hands.
But Asian women are quite a bit different. My current girlfriend seems to enjoy 'holding hands' more than I'm comfortable with. But what can you do? I often pull my hand out of hers.. just continue walking again.. and suddenly she just slips that hand right back in there again. What are you going to do? |

most women would much prefer a guy who will unapologetically take her to a cheap, delicious restaurant, have a good time, and expect her to split the bill
rather than
having an expensive meal bought for her buy a guy with no balls who wouldn't dare ask her for her half of the bill and shows himself to be nothing more than another loser good for a free feed occasionally. |

I hate those idiots who will not let go no matter what, even though they are taking up the entire sidewalk, and there are a millon people trying to get past.
But I don't think this is really the point of your post (taking into account the required reading). |

Yeah.. I agree! Mashimaro, you need to stop dating whoever it is! She's too cheap to even pay for half the bill!
I also applaud you, Mashimaro, for you seem to be one of the few guys on this board who seems to have any balls left.

PS: When it comes to holding hands, I don't like it. I feel uncomfortable holding a persons hand. You see, I like my hands to be free and airy, or sometimes in my pockets... not in another person's hand.
PPS: I also wanted to say I'm not fundamentally against holding hands, but for me it's physically uncomfortable. And one of my ex's liked to hold hands, but I'd always have to pull away from her. She would get upset... why?
It's not like I was rejecting her as my girlfriend.
Guess what? She didn't take it as me rejecting her either...
She was upset because she couldn't "show the world" that we were a couple by holding hands.
PPPS: By the way, here's what one of the hottest women in the world, Salma Hayek has to say:
I am suspicious of those who have to let the world know how much they love each other. It's a little sad when you have to brag about how much you love someone.
That kind of declaration doesn't always reflect the moment of truth between two people who care deeply for each other. When that truth is there, you don't need others to know it.
And when somebody truly loves you, you don't even need him or her to be affectionate. Affection is fantastic, but it doesn't necessarily mean there's love - and the public display of affection is often just a show.
...for many women, marriage is only about needing the world to know that someone desires them enough to say, "Here's a contract to prove that I love you and will commit to you for the rest of my life."
For these women, no contract equals no validation - and, thus, no reason for existing.
Well said, Salma...! By the way, I should add that I do know her ... umm... "shrink". But let's keep that a secret on this Korean forum. |

Well, hell.
Now that you've cited Salma Hayek, I guess the issue is resolved. |

Armchair psychology aside, the boyfriend and I hold hands solely because we want to. We're not in junior high school. We have nothing to prove and no one to impress. We simply love each other and enjoy being together, wherever we happen to be. |
