As some of you might remember, I once before posted here asking for a male actor for a student film. I'm a foreign student at my graduate school of filmmaking and for a soon to shoot production we need an actor to play the part of an English teacher. The part is minor but it can put you on the path to other gigs.
It's a serious offer and is funded by cj entertainment. After it is finished, it will be shown on cable access.
Anyone who is interested, please PM me as soon as possible with your phone number. Previous acting experience would be great but not necessary. They plan on shooting the "hagwon" scene in one week from today on the 11th Sunday.

I just got a PM asking what's involved. Well, as of now I don't know what the lines are, but the main characters are highschool students, one enrolled at a hagwon. The teacher should just conduct the class like a typical hagwon class. No Shakespearian acting abilities will be needed and just a few terse lines probably. Someone who has a neat and tidy appearance with some acting experience who won't freeze in front of the camera is preffered. One whole Sunday will probably be needed and you may or may not get severance pay for this but I'm guessing not because of the red tape. People who are interested in the experience and look to get in the acting profession here will be welcomed. This is a semi-large production with a big corporation behind.

Male or female is ok.

Just in support of. . .

Indies are kind of fun (but is it really an indie if it's funded by cj entertainment? -- no matter) and I've acted in a few just for shits and giggles. They can lead to other things and at the very least you can put it on an actor's resume.

If you go be sure to bring a book or something -- actors in particular spend a whole lot of time just sitting around.

This no indie. It is a commercial production with a few semi-starting famous actors. Serious business managed by students at my school with a sheetload of money for production.

For those who are serious, please send me the info on:
1. headshot
2. weight/height measurements and age
3. any former acting experience
4. e-mail and phone number

I got word of the schedule. The tentative day for shooting is on the 17th but the interested party must be able to change the day of shoot if necessary. Also there will be a few lines in Korean so some aptitude in the language will be necesary.

I don't want to be a damper, but if this is a commerical venture, meaning it is a PUBLIC venture, then would your actor not need an F-4 visa?

That's true, but the "actor" will not be hired for money so I see no restrictions.

I had many people PM me but we've already narrowed it down to one.

Many thanks to all who replied to me. I will keep those interested in acting in a file in case other opportunities come along in the future.

Thanks!

If I'm not mistaken, in theory all work, paid or otherwise (e.g. volunteer work), is illegal if it is not authorized by immigration. This matter has come up in numerous threads before.

Thus, the "no pay" excuse seems invalid.
