Is Stephan Cho about 5'8" tall, 190 pounds, and has a quite discernible Mexican-American (i.e., Los Angeles Barrio) accent when he does the English thang? If so, he's the person who saved me from going to a very bad school in Seoul. |
Sounds like him. I could never quite figure out his accent. He learned in Australia though, but I can see the barrio tones. Did he ask you to go hiking? |
With regard to Stephan Cho:
If it is the same individual who was adopted out of the Kachisan area of Seoul City by the Grommesh Family of Minneapolis, Minnesota, U.S.A., well, he's now a Dirty Narc based out of Seoul City who, in addition to doing a lot of lying for lame hogwons and public school Principals in the Gimpo City, Gyeonggi Province area, will do his slimy best to send even the English instructors he's recruited for his Client Schools to jail if it's financially convenient for him. This cocksucker sees only Won signs in his money-obstructed, 3-D field-of-vision.
Trust me on this one: He's a Korean who, at seven years of age, was adopted by a family from the States. In addition to his claims of being a major Crack Head in Chicago, this thirtysomething year old male, since returning to the R.O.K. about six years ago, has made a career out of dickin' Whites around in a big time manner. It's as if he perceives himself as one of those True Blue Uri Nara Gyopo things who's sole purpose in life is to dick over Whitey for only financial reasons.
Whatever, he's a thing who's allied himself to the Korean Killers Gang here in the R.O.K. or when he was back in the States. This claim about his and the aforesaid Korean-born fellas affiliation with the "Korea Killers" Gang, was uttered to me by Steve Grommesh in a very anger-filled, heated telephone conversation I endured with the fork in late Spring of 2003. You know what, I'm not dead yet because he knows that I'm quite tight with a lot of Bronx, N.Y.C. and East Boston, Massachusetts Italians - not to mention the accidental, neighborhood thing with the Hells Angels. Grommesh and his forks know better than to off me because, if they do, they will lose their own thang. Dig it.
For the record, the Korean Killers Gang and The Korea Pride Gang are very active in: Houston, Texas; L.A., California; Portland, Oregon; Seattle, Washington; New York City, New York; Sacramento and, while we are on this topic, most of Orange County, California; the Lawrence-Lowell-Lynn area of Massachusetts; and, lastly, the Korean Killers and Korean Pride outfits and their associates are not, you can check it out with N.H. State Police, unknown in the Southern New Hampshire and Southern Maine areas of so-called Northern New England.
Tread far away from this, likely, well known K-American gang member. Fork it, stay away from his buddies at E.N.I. Education, too: Eric, Kevin, Lawrence Min of Kangnam University, and Sunny Jang.
Steve and his buddies at E.N.I. (again, Sunny Jang, Eric Whatever, and Lawrence Min of the private business/thing known as Kangnam University in Gyeonggi Province) took my Official Documents. Min, in particular, refused to return them until I threatened to resort to fist-a-cuffs with these f-in' loads. The follow-up threats of defacto death from Grommesh merely compelled me to go to the U.S.A. Embassy after which this allotment of Gyopo Scum caved in to my oft-repeated requests to return my Work Docs (Eric and Lawrence Min are Naturalised American citizens). I mean, what does a good-natured Whitey have to do in this sort of situation?
Bottom line: Grommesh, Sunny Jang, et-al, are totally evil forks who'll smile as they plot your own financial demise, Never trust these forkers nor any of their co-conspirators: "Kevin" "Eric," and that little *beep* named Lawrence Min - a 5'10" fork with a discernible Queens Borough, New York City accent.
Y'all dig? Me hopes so.

I'm a newb at this so take my advice with a grain of salt, but I'd recommend ATC at www.atcjob.com The head recruiter there "Patrick" has been very helpful. I've worked with several recruiters in my job search and this agency has been the most helpful, timely, and forthright. |
I also worked with Patrick at ATC and he was really good. They do the hiring for Gyeonggi-do public schools. I was hired and started working out in Incheon last week. I've been here two and half years and it was a very smooth transition.
My understanding is that the Incheon Public Schools are looking for more teachers, but I'd check with him to make sure that's correct. |

Well I guess this means that I shouldn't accept a hiking invitation with Mr. Cho....
Thanks for all the info everyone... Hope Mr. Cho and I don't cross paths. Is his type something one should be on the look out for when meeting new folks in S. Korea? Or is he merely an unusual infamous character? |

I would also recommend ATC. They were easy to work with and they were reliable. They did their best to accomadate my needs. |

Your question is a good one. Some Gyopos running from legal
problems in Australia, Canada, the U.S., or wherever seem to end up in the lucrative business of E.F.L. Just ask the next Gyopo you come across about her or his background. That's what I'll do, eh.
Cheers!

Try Madeleine Moon. She's based in New Mexico. She's very helpful and won't place you at a bad school. Everyone I've talked to who has used her was happy.
Her e-mail is [email protected] |

Hey Rodney have you heard from ATC yet? I'm pretty sure they're hiring for public elementary schools still in Incheon. If Patrick is busy, you can also contact clara at [email protected] I think that's it.
Go to www.atcjob.com then click the link for incheon jobs on the right. If you scroll down there should be a contact e-mail address. Good luck m8 |

I hope nobody's actually taking this seriously. Stephen Cho's a good guy. He got me a good job, always did what he said, and I'm using him again. |

Not Good....
I asked them for a public school at the beginning of the year - they told me the big story about how March was too late.. and that they had a wonderful Hagwon for me to work at at Cheonho station (about 5 minutes from my house)...
I told them that I hated Hagwons because of the problems they give foreign teachers.. etc late salary, etc etc being lied to etc etc
they assured me that this was the MOST stable, MOST honest hagwon around and that I should give it a try - set up an interview for me to me them at Cheonho station.....
anyway - went to Cheonho station - just to be met and told - Oh we have to catch a bus - just a little down the road... turned out to be a 45 minute bus journey to hannam city - where the Hagwon was - and 3~4 months later the Hagwon closed down and all the teachers were fired....
I guess - it doesn't really matter whether people think one recruiter is good or bad - its the school they give you... I think half the time the recruiters themselves don't really have a clue about the school they are offering you - and just need to fill their oldest waiting positions first..
so regardless on whether the same recruiter gave an excellent school to one particular teacher one day - the next day the same recruiter could give a terrible school to the next teacher who walks in their door... |

I think Yesterday is definitely on to something here. It makes sense if you think about it, although there are definitely bad recruiters out there as well. Ultimately, it is the school and your living conditions here in Korea that will make or break your experience. It doesn't make much sense to blame a recruiter for a school or director's shortcomings. The most important thing to understand is that many times there are miscommunications between the recruiter and the school that are not the fault of the recruiter.

Hello... I'm an experienced teacher and have chosen Korea as my next overseas teaching destination. Could someone please advise me as to which recruiters are reputable and reliable? There is such a plethera of jobs out there and it seems they would be a good place to begin a search. Thanks in advance! |
I'm not a recruiter but I do occasionally help out a school I used to have contact with when I worked in Korea. If you want me to hook you up with them just email me: [email protected] |
