I have such a hankering for an old-fasioned ice cream sundae. Brigham's ice cream back home (Boston) comes to mind. Real hot fudge, marshmallow sauce, nuts, chocolate sprinkles, whipped cream and of course a marachino cherry on top. Chocolate M&M ice cream would just make my day.

Any suggestions on where to go? I live in Bundang (Migeum) and nothing really comes close.

I asked a Korean student what her favourite flavour of sundae was, and she answered "pig chitterlings."

yeah, you gotta be careful...sundae not soondae.

I can't help you with where to find real sundaes but you can find a lot of the pieces-chocolate sauce, ice cream, m&ms, brownies...maybe not marshmallows, but I'm sure they're somewhere.

If you're not a do-it-youselfer the ice cream fondue at baskin robbins is pretty scrumptuous.

I stumbled across a "Ben and Jerry's" on a busy side street in Gangnam once, but I can't give directions on how to get there (if it's still there...)

Oh, that was soooooo bad...... I would almost rather eat soondae... Smile

To the OP.

Some of the high end western style restaurants like VIPS and TGIF and maybe OUTBACK (can't remember specifically which one had the closest to the OPs description) also do a decent sundae on their dessert menus.

Baskin robbins is OK too... but not the in the same class as the OP was describing... Smile

Side note to Tzechuk ... thanks for dropping the stuff off... it was very kind of you to make the delivery on our time schedule.

baskin robbins are everywhere, but i came across a Haagen Daaz in Jeongja the other day. real expensive (3300 W for a single scoop) but they might have sundaes.

Nah, the Ben and Jerry's isn't there anymore. It was replaced by an omurice restaurant. Too bad for that.
