I would like to see the whole contract before I make any judgement calls. If you could post it, that would be helpful. |

No amazing job offer find... you really have researched hard...
There are 1000's of those "after-school-public-school" positions out there - by many different companies...
- GLE (Good-luck English)
- KTS (Korea ...............)
- Win Educ...
- Jin recruting....
etc etc
They all offer the same thing - teach 1pm~4pm/5pm for 1.8~2.4 million per month....
Take it if you want - seems no amazing find to me -
here are the catches -
(since you are a P-T teacher (less than 18 hours per week) -
no medical insurance,
no pension,
pay-for-your own ticket,
low-rental subsidy,
only 2 weeks vacation (10 days) - [1st week March & 1st week August]
have to open 2 bank accounts and give one to employer
sign 2 contracts (one with school - one with company)
etc etc....
Don't get me wrong many of those jobs rule - much better than most Hagwons - but really there is nothing for you to be proclaiming about of the roof-tops to many foreign teachers who have already done those jobs... |

Yeah I've already accepted a job somewhere else--I just saw the ad and that it looked like a pretty sweet set up. Sorry no contract to post.
I have to agree with those hours and only working it M-Th the drawbacks don't seem too bad. I mean if you add all the hours that you don't have to be at work, when you would have to be under a typical contract, the "monetary" value of what you get I think outweighs the "monetary" value of those lose benefits (pension, med insurance, planet ticket, etc). But that's going to differ from person to person and what they want out of their job. |
