Who's going to watch The Omen?

At the lotte theater here, they have a screening right at midnight tonight.

I saw some previews.

The kid playing Damien isn't creepy enough.

If you're going to make a movie about the Anti-Christ, you need someone who can look like the personification of pure evil.

dude...that kid is creepy enough!!! Shocked

Dude ... South Park's Damien is more ominous ...

I agree with where Mindmeto is going with his arguement.

I think it's very narcistic and egocentric to think that the Revelation of Jesus Christ is focused on our day and time. I believe that Hal Lindsey and other jackasses should be sued for spewing lies over many years. Revelation is part of a genre that is apocalyptic literature (e.g. Daniel, etc.) and must be read keeping certain ideas in mind.

Jacques Ellul's Apocalypse is an awesome commentary IMHO. In addition, Four Views of Hell ed. by Clark Pinnock is a must read for people grappling with issues of Hell and is God a worst saddist than Hitler?!

Must go and visit Hell, Michigan one day.

Cheers!

There's also a Climax, Michigan. A radio station in Detroit had a contest to come up with the best slogan for Climax. The winner was "I haven't been to Climax since my dog died."

Man, the theme music for the first Omen movie freaks me out even now.

I watched the first 3 Omens yesterday, and it's the music that's freaky in No. 1.

I was walking around the house sort of singing it (it's Latin right?) and scaring myself and the wife. Anyone know what the words mean?

I'll check out the new one this weekend.

Hexakosioihexekontahexaphobic is the word meaning fear of the number 666. I think it's a pretty sweet word.

It's called Ave Santani. I don't think you need to know Latin to figure out what that means, and the lyrics are more or less straightforward too:

Sanguis minimus
Corpus animus
Sanguis minimus
Corpus animus

Sanguis minimus
Corpus animus
Rotted corpus satani ave
Sanguis minimus
Corpus animus

Rotted corpus satani ave
Ave versus jesus cristus
Ave versus jesus cristus
Ave versus jesus cristus

Sanguis minimus
Corpus animus
Rotted corpus satani
Satani
Satani
Satani
Satani
