Since, everyone was b*tching about Heaven 1, we at Heaven Inc have created Heaven 2. I hope you enjoy the experience. |

Is Heaven in the news?
Or are people just sick of you over in the OT forum?
In other words, this crap doesn't belong in the Current Events forum. |

Actually I think religious posts do belong in the Current Events forum.
Religion like politics is very controversial . The CU forum was made so others would not have to see controversial stuff if they did not want to. |

Of the options listed the only one I could vote for was Jesus. (There is no "crazy cat god" associated with my religious beliefs - "Smiling Cat Goddess" is just the title of one of my abstract paintings...)
I also don't understand heaven to be an ultimate destination. For those who make it, it may seem like you're there forever, but after a lifespan of 10,000 years you either make further spiritual progress back to the eternal kingdom of God or you take birth again on an earth planet. Similarly, one lifetime on a hellish planet may seem like forever, but the infinitely compassionate Supreme Lord would never banish any spirt-soul for an eternity. Jesus - or whoever compiled the relevant Biblical verses -apparently used poetic license to stress obedience to laws of God and acceptance of his empowered representative. |

Sing the wondrous love of Jesus;
sing his mercy and his grace.
In the mansions bright and blessed
he'll prepare for us a place.
Refrain:
When we all get to heaven,
what a day of rejoicing that will be!
When we all see Jesus,
we'll sing and shout the victory!
While we walk the pilgrim pathway,
clouds will overspread the sky;
but when travelling days are over,
not a shadow, not a sigh.
(Refrain)
Let us then be true and faithful,
trusting, serving every day;
just one glimpse of him in glory
will the toils of life repay.
(Refrain>
Onward to the prize before us!
Soon his beauty we'll behold;
soon the pearly gates will open;
we shall tread the streets of gold.
(Refrain) |

Actually, I kind of like the way FiveEagles covers all the bases here, in a witty and economical sort of a way.
But I join with those who argue that religion in and of itself isn't really appropriate for this forum. I mean, if religion is a current event, why not art, music, or cooking? Perhaps Five Eagles should try to work his prosletyzation into one of the more "contemporary" topics? |
