I'm on Ko Pha Ngan now.
The place is pretty much dead with the exception of locals.
It's low season and the weather is pretty good still, hot but with some showers in the late afternoon and evening.
Anyone over in Pha Ngan / Samui now? |
I'll be in Thailand next mon for 4 1/2 weeks, not sure when I will get to Samui maybe about a week-10 days later want to go to Laos and Cambodia first |

I'm on Samui now. Not much going here. Pretty quiet it seems compared to past trips during high season. But even during low season, the weather is quite nice.
Took a trip through the King Cobra museum/show yesterday. Saw the crocodiles as well. Interesting stuff. We rented a Sea-Do yesterday at Lamai Beach and go bored after 20 minutes. Also went for a swim at Chaweng.
In fact, I think I prefer Pha Ngan up at Tong Nai Pan.
Someone mentioned Bottle Beach - a nice beach to relax and drink beer. You'll probably have to take a boat into the beach as the road is quite trecherous. We had to "bull dog" our bikes down some of the hills.
Saw a few motorcycle accidents, so take care.
Off to Australia on the 20th.
If anyone is in Samui until the 15th, let me know and we can go for a beer! |

I did the full moon party last year, it was pretty good. A mistranslation at one point left me with three bucket drinks instead of one, so I don't remember most of the night particularly well, besides wading out into the surf and realizing that at least 30% of it was probably urine. I stayed at Tong Nai Pan and though the beach was pretty it was almost indescribably quiet at night, almost to the point of being eerie. It was a trek getting there too, as most of the roads on the island are still basically dirt tracks. |
