Hello all!

My parents are coming to Korea this summer and I need to find a good hotel near Incheon airport that will be comfortable for them. They aren't yeogwan people and would feel most comfortable in a western-style hotel. They don't care if it is the fanciest hotel either, but it should look clean.

I know there is a Best Western, but I was hoping to find something a little cheaper that is still conveniently located to the airport. Any suggestions?

I stayed there in Feb. for 50,000. If the rates have gone up that much, they have lost me! It's a nice deal for 50,000, but not 77,000 standards!

http://www.hotel.co.kr/kr/hotel/view.php?HTCode=E4WHTC00094

This website gives you the hotel for 61,000 but you have to pay for breakfast.

This seems to be the cheapest.

Desultude - how did you book your hotel?

I arrived late at night from the States and the information desk at the airport made the arrangements. Then the hotel's shuttlebus picked me up. Quite easy and convenient.

But even closer than "Airport Town Square" is the Business Centre in which are the Hyatt and a Best Wetsern. Within a few minutes' walk of both is very acceptable Thai restaurant.

I just spoke with Sky Hotel about a reservation for the end of the month- for 1 person- 77,000. I was not that impressed with the place- really- there wasn't even shampoo in the bathroom, or any of the other little nicities you get even in a 40K yogwan.

Anyone know anything in the 50K range around either the airport or Seoul Station?

I went to that site- their idea of budget yogwan is over 80K! Shocked

We ended up staying at the Hub Herb for 65,000 a night which was the cheapest we could get after calling and shopping around at websites.

Yeah, don't stay at Hotel Sky. I guess it's tolerable but I've seen (much) nicer love motels for much less money. The airport shuttle is nice though.

Aren't there any cheap crappy motels out near the airport, or would I be better off going into Incheon and finding a place there next time?

I stayed overnight at the Incheon Airport Backpackers hostel this weekend.

It cost me about 38,000 won for one night excluding breakfast.
It was really just a yeogwan, but it is only 10 minutes from Incheon airport and they do airport pick up. I booked them through www.hostelworld.com

Yeah, its cheap and okay, but don't try to stay there when it is hot, as they turn off the AC at 6 or 7 PM, until the next morning. It is an officetel- they have a strange idea of a guest house!

But if the weather is not too hot, it is quiet and comfortable enough. Oh, one more thing, the bedding consists of a synthetic throw with no weight, and with no sheet, it feels really scratchy and uncomfortable.

Get what you pay for, I guess. Confused
