I am making a list of class rules for our school's 'summer junior English camp'. This is what I have so far but I don't like how negative it comes off sounding. Please make any suggestions.

Rules for Our Classroom
1. Bring your book, workbook, and diary every day.
2. Bring your pencilcase every day.
3. If someone else is talking, do not talk.
4. Do not leave Sisa in break time.
5. Do not touch your teacher.
6. Do what your teacher tells you.
7. Speak only English in class. No speaking Korean!
8. If class behavior is not good, there will be no game time. |
This is obviously the roughest of possible drafts. It will be translated and given to both students and parents in both languages, and posted prominently in all classrooms. |

Why number 5? Squeamish?
But the rest seem basic and fine. My lists are usualy longer, but you may be looking for simplicity, which is also good.

You might consider:
- Follow your teacher's instructions (instead of do what he/she tell you)
and I would change the last one to:
- good classroom behavior will be rewarded with game time
but that's just me.
Good luck. |

List seems a bit long - you don't wanna make your kids feel like they're in some kind of boot camp. I also wonder about no. 5...
Just make 2 or 3 rules which are more clear and concise and have a set penalty and/or bonus system. |

Rules are fine, but getting students to abide by them is another matter.
Number five I totally understand. There are some students who regard foreign teachers as being about equal to the family pet and as such they feel free to maul the teacher or put their hands in places that I'd rather not mention.
Good luck. |
