ok, in anticipation of a thumping victory tonight, and the return of the Rooney, i am writing this decidedly untypically English message of positivity*, so here goes:

May i be the first to congratulate England on their convincing victory, and state my humble opinion that they should, this year, raise that glorious trophy aloft, reminiscent of that fine day in London '66.

I smell a victory parade in August..

* basically, speaking from my experience, we should expect the worst, and anything better is nice Laughing

And in typical English fashion, we do it the hard way.
It's the result that counts though, and two clean sheets (although mine might be stained after some of the Trinibago chances!!)

Yep, that was so painful I almost puked. Consistently making a sow's ear out of a silk purse. Mind you, they did look sharper once Rooney took the field. Owen though, sheesh, with that youthful pace gone, this should be the last world cup he plays in.

I was impressed with Lennon. Gerrard's goal was mint.
However, my university team could beat Trinibago, whilst drunk!
I'm still available for a call up!

Owen, Lampard, don't let the door hit you on the arse on your way out.

Lampard aint fit to wipe the phlegm off the scousers gob. Play the best players (Gerrard) in their favourite positions and the makeweights fit in around them.

Fatty has been found out.

Lennon in for fatty next time please.

I dont care that he scored, i cant help but notice the lack of death threats winging their way toward that evil master of the universe lookalike 3-metre tall 5oz weighing toothpick that plays like he is at a school fete.
Why on gods green earth is he alive, let alone allowed a passport at a time like this?
Please, i beg you Sven, euthanasia is legal in some countries, make his passport useful...

Me and 10 of my mates could beat ENGLAND!

Mind you, often the teams that go far in the competition start slowly, like Portugal in Euro 2004 (they absolutely sucked) and Italy in 1994. Even with the sh1tty performances, I suspect we'll see some more emphatic performances later on, get everyone's hopes up (Jesus, English fans/media are fickle - doom and gloom one minute and then "we're gonna win the WC" the next!) and then bottle it/be really unlucky in the semis.

I have watched both England games, and they are the team I would like to see win the cup, but.... WTF is with Crouch? He sucks. Is he only on the team because he is tall? Can someone please explain this one to me. He's ugly too, which pisses me off even more. (I agree that Lampard is dragging ass out there as well.)

Peter Crouch is in the team for team morale. It is always good to have someone on the pitch that, when you are playing badly, you can look at the gangly, goggle-eyed anorexic insect tottering around on his stilt legs and think- "well, at least i aint him"

Here's to England, Essex Boy!

By the way, I was born in Essex County, Massachusetts, and my ancestors are from Norwich City, East Anglia (hundreds of years ago, mind you).

As you were, Essex Boy. (Do you have an Essex Gal with you in the R.O.K.?)

Cordially,

Roch

They are not all stupid! i remember one once, she could write her own name, and fill out job application forms- its just when they asked for her bank details and she drew a picture of her local Lloyds TSB...
