Hi,
KT came today and connected me to the internet. First of all the engineer said 'APPLE NO" I managed to mime enough to get him to try and of course it worked.
My problem is that he only connected it with a line and I want the connection to be wireless, does anyone know how I do this? |

Do you have an Airport? If you have an Airport you can set it up. Otherwise, no.

Yes, I have an airport card installed. It usually detects a network connection but it isn't detecting one from my KT modem, do you know how I rectify this? |

Umm... 'airport card'? Do you have a laptop or a desktop?
If a laptop, do you have an airport express card and a base station?
If a desktop, you only need the base station.

I have a laptop with airport card installed, no base station. I thought it was wireless automatically, I can pick up a VERY faint network on airport from somewhere in my building. |

If the modem is not broadcasting a wireless signal then your airport card is useless. You can always have your boss call the internet company and see if they offer wireless modems. Otherwise you can always buy one yourself and see if they can set it up for you. I'm not sure, but I don't think you can just buy one and plug it in to their cable. It may have to be registered with them or something.

I don't think you can do that with a Mac. You need a base station.

You should be able to connect wirelessly to any wireless router. You do not need a Basestation. I currently connect via a Linksys router connected to my Dad's pc. Your airport card will pick it up.
Word of warning: if you don't want anonymous people using your connection, make sure you go through the security measures suggested by the manufacturer of your router--then only you can use it. |
