My school told me that my services are not longer required in july. With no explanation either, but to be honest I was planning on quitting in September so no biggie.

Now I have requested that they give me my letter of release ahead of time. I want it dated for my last day and in my hands to at least ensure that if they try to dick me on my pay they at least can not jerk me around with my LOR.

Today my supervisor informs me that the letter will not be issued any moment prior to the last day of my employment due to government regulations.

Is she full of crap?

Should I trust her?

Is that something that will hold water with the labour board?

She is NOT being true.

Just to confirm, "They are terminating you and not the other way around?"

Simply make a LOR dated for your "last day" and ask that they sign AND stamp it. You need it to apply for a new position.

If they take more than 1 or 2 days to return it to you, sit down at your desk and refuse to work until you have it.

If they are pissy now... they most likely won't get better later.

Scroll down for the dual language LOR.

Do you have a list of the parents' phone numbers? If not, I'd try to get one asap. It's like having a gun you can put to their heads.

I was planning on quitting in september even though my contract ends in feb. The school maintains that many parents complained about me without venturing into the exact details of the complaints.

Well if they won't give you an LOR you can always try phoning a few parents saying you have some concerns you want to discuss. Believe me, as I know from experience, nothing freaks an idiot wongjongnim out like that does.

Rather than go all out on the guy I sat down with him and we had a talk. In principle he seems to agree that predated letter of release will not hurt anyone. He is now going to discuss it with the wonjon and they will decide on my "fate". I should have avoided talking with my supervisor about this all together.

I should know more in a day or two.

Just in from my supervisor she says that according to the dude in charge of all the immigration paperwork that they can not issue a letter of release until the last day of work, and they need permission from immigration to do so.

Why does it feel like someone is pissin' on my leg and saying its raining?
