Tomato, I think you've missed the point.
Although I thinks it's just fantastic that you can write Korean very well, nobody is criticizing LOVE TEACHING's post because his/her English is imperfect.
Rather, it is because it is a question designed to get resonses which would provoke a negative reaction towards foreign teachers. Obviously LOVE TEACHING is in fact a Korean teacher who is posing as a foreigner in order to complain about the deal that foreigners get.
BTW what does that ^^ thing mean? |

I'm afraid I still don't get it.
If he or she is complaining on our behalf, and if his or her complaints are legitimate, shouldn't we appreciate it?
Also, I feel concerned about foreigners rejecting a Korean just because his or her English is imperfect.
I don't like Koreans rejecting me because my Korean is imperfect, and I am trying to follow the Golden Rule.

I think that's a happy symbol, denoting two closed eyes.
I have wondered what ㅋ ㅋ means.
A Korean person told me that that denotes a laughing sound.
I have been curious about how Koreans write obscene symbols on message boards.
Someone told me how to get that symbol in the Hangul program:
1. type 철 and highlight it.
2. click on 입력 (D) in the overhead menu.
3. click on 한자로 변환 (H) in the drop-down menu.
4. click on the obscene symbol in the Chinese characters displayed.
But I'm old enough to have grandchildren.
So I might look foolish if I wrote ㅅㅅ's, ㅋㅋ's, and obscene symbols.
Anyway, we are all forgetting the content of the OP.
Could someone tell Love Teaching whether or not the EPIK contract covers a package deal in Japan? |

The person is obviously Korean, so we are pointing that out by the grammar. Tell me this before you start judging us who are making fun of him/her. Why is the obviously not native poster posing as a native speaker from Canada? If they really just had the question or were concerned about it they would just say they were Korean looking for an answer for their friend (co-worker). Why the subterfuge? We are pretty sure there is another motive behind this question. |

Tomato, you seriously need to re-read the OP and question LOVE TEACHING's motives.
If they have a legitimate complaint, then they can come onto this forum and present themselves and their complaint honestly. Instead, they came on here pretending to ask a friendly question that they don't really need an answer for in order to entrap respondents into giving them something to hold against us.
If they were honest about themselves, then I would assume their motives were fair. But as someone who has lived in Korea for a little while, I can tell you what their real motivation was:
XENOPHOBIA. |

I don't understand that Xenophobia thing RachelRoo is talking about0. Well, I do, but I think he/she might be just a little paranoid But there is definitely another motive behind the OP and if you can't see it I am guessing you aren't reading it right.
This other motive could be as little as he/she was afraid to come on as a Korean and ask and get heckled by all the Korean haters on this forum or maybe the OP has a foreign friend who is thinking about it but doesn't want to ask anyone in fear that his/her school will find out. Either way, there is another motive and people don't like being tricked or lied to, even if the reason is good. The OP started with an obvious lie, it is normal to assume that the motive is not so good. |

And I suppose you believe your approach to be more level-headed than my kimchi comment, eh? |

Being devil's advocate, I actually think the kimchi is going bad, with something festering inside it |
