Just looking for some new tunes, heres a few though:

The Sonics - a must check out

Golden Earring - they did have songs besides Radar Love

Brothers Johnson

Uriah Heep

Alvin Lee

Eh...

Triphop's cool but I don't get much out of Portishead. Not interested in Korean music. Have yet to find any I've liked.

I mostly like bands that are, or have done something different.

Well, an artist you may not have heard of is one I posted on the music thread over in Off-Topic: Emilie Simon.

Thene there is Le Tigre. One of the most interesting and unique bands I've ever heard.

You may not know of the Bad Plus. They're pretty unique. 3-man modern Jazz trio. I'll say this: their cover of Aphex Twin's song Flim is phenomenal. Their drummer is a total badass.
