I'm moving on in one or two months and need to learn to speak some Spanish before I take off. I'd like lessons on Tuesdays and/or Thursdays from a native Spanish teacher. I live in Itaewon and am American. If you are interested, PM me with your rates as well as where you are from. Many thanks! -Jennifer |

You might want to consider a couple of professionally designed and tested courses that can be very helpful if you are a beginner. There are two I would recommend. I think both will achieve results much faster than a private teacher.
The basic Pimsleur method courses (Spanish I-II-III) will give you more than 45 hours of instruction via CD. This should allow you to get along at a low intermediate level (it was the basis of most language training for the US State Department and military). I like it a lot -- it is based on careful scientific studies at UCLA and it works very well. If you want to buy these, let me know . . . I can suggest some bargain prices.
A second method is Rosetta Stone Spanish, which uses CD-ROMs and is now the most widely used method for language training. Their are three Rosetta Stone Latin American Spanish courses which total 600+ hours of instruction. You can access all the lessons online for $49 a month (if you don't want to buy the courses, which cost $499 total). The website is www.RosettaStone.com
Good luck -- I'm studying Spanish, too, when I have time. |
