I was wondering how many of your welcome overtime? Why or why not?
I do. Seeing that if I do, I am still done by 4:30pm, it really isn't that bad. It's either teach an extra class or sit around (since i have split shifts). |

My hours are really light right now, so I'd absolutely welcome extra work. However, in my last school, I was overbooked as it was, so then it would have been a no-go. |

I've got so much extra work right now it's all I've been doing in my free time the past couple weeks. Sucks, until I think about the money. It's not teaching btw. |

I would if the public school overtime pay was higher, but 20,000/hr, that's not worth it to me. |

Well Zappa....20,000Won for a 40minute class comes out to 30,000Won an hour. Oh well....to each his own... |

Yep, it pays for my holidays. Funny how many think 20,000 won P/H OT is not worth it. Back home $27.00 an hour would have been very nice. |

If it was 27.00/hr, or 27,000 원/hr, I would think about it. That's a big difference from 20 and hour. |

Also depends on what kind of class. If it's one of those classes where not much prep is required and you are actually making 20/hr, that's fine. But if it's a teacher's class or some advanced class where it takes and hour to prep and you are actually making 10/hr., that's a different story. |

Never. I'll do other work, like editing or writing. That's not really work to me. That's just sitting in Starbucks clicking on my laptop. But I don't need the extra money that badly from teaching. |

Never. I kind of enjoy telling them no.......especially the real persistant guys on the subway, who insist that I MUST teach their kids.
AT work, there is none.... thank God. I have enough hours already. |

I'm doing O/T this summer as it's vacation and everyhour I teach is o/t so for the three weeks I work I'll be making 6mill - other than that I'd rather not do extra work during the semester as I'm busy enough. |

It depends on the kids, the number of students, the length of the class, the time, the location and probably a few other factors.
If it's at 1:00 pm on Saturday afternoons, and it's the only overtime offered.........I'd have to say it's not worth it.
Bugger up your whole weekend for a measley 20,000? No thanks. |
