Of course now we will have to live with MBCESPN showing highlights of their glorious victory over little Togo until the end of time. I'm sure that they'll package that with the Italy and Spain games of 2002 and make a greatest hits package.

Everything you said was spot on, bro. I've never said this about any other country I've visited because anywhere else it would be arrogant. But you know what, I've recently learned to just NOT watch Korean TV, NOT buy Korean newspapers, NOT listen to their music etc. It's just all too predictable, mind-numbing, boring, and not worth my time. Turn it off, tear it up, and get yourself a good book or flick that has nothing to do with the glories of 'Daehanmingug'. If you need to vent there's always Dave's and a host of blogs. |

Oh, what's the matter, apologists? Gonna cry cause your beloved Red Devils got dominated. I don't give a damn about you guys...if I want to cheer against Korea, I will cheer and cheer excessively. Oh yeah, gloating...well, you should have heard the sounds of joy that were exhibited on the peninsula when Japan lost to Australia. Hell, they were going crazy...almost as if Korea was directly involved in the game And the US? Yeah, people can rip on the US and it is okay...but criticize Korea...no...that is heresy. Man, you guys are a perfect fit for this country...conformist and always believing in everything Korean. I don't subscribe to your views and never will. I'm sure it plagues your little, pea brains knowing that there are people out there who want to see Korea fail. Tough shit!
urban myth...wretched existence...boy, that's laughable. Considering that you spend every waking(and probably sleeping) second on the Internet...waiting for people like me to post my masterpieces so that you can criticize and feel better about yourself. Your post count is a testament of your pathetic life. Get out from behind the keyboard, little man.
fee world..yes, I will be long gone from Korea soon and you can have the place. It is all yours. Enjoy the pollution and the conformity. By the way, the 3 goals related to Korea...I wasn't talking about France...I'm sure that there are other teams in the tournament that scored the same or lower. So, focus...and stop trying to justify your own views...it is quite ridiculous. |

Did I touch a nerve there buddy?
When a country tries to pull the wool over the eyes of the international community al la the Nobel peace prize fiasco and the human cloning sham, said country (korea) deserves ridicule. Its pure comic gold. |
nobel peace prize? This is a new one for me. Can someone give me the details about it? |

The noble peace prize is a joke. Aloph Hitler was a nominee in 1938.

You would find this behaviour in any country with a local or not-local rival. If Israel played Iraq at football, I'm sure Americans would cheer for Israel. |

I don't wish failure to Korea. I just want justice and fairness, and the best team to win.
Korea played well enough to be considered as maybe #17 or something like that, but at the end of the day, that means squat.
Korea is a decent country, but not a great one, in my opinion. So I wish them decent success. |

In june of 2000, there were historic peace talks in pyongyang between then president KimDaeJun and Kim Jong Il. When KDJ landed at the airport in North Korea, KJI even met him on the tarmac as he exited the plane. This was shown live on tv here. Everybody got all weepy and emotional. In decemeber of that year KimDaeJun won the noble peace prize for his sunshine policy and facilitating that meeting.
It was later found out that kim Dae Jun gave hundreds of millions of diollars to North Korea so they would show up at the bargaining table. In essence buying a Noble Peace Prize.

Not exactly. For example, the rugby rivalray between Australia and New Zealand is possibly one of the longest fought and fiercely contested and supported grudge matches in international sport. The feeling on both sides is very warm to say the least. However, once the game is over, Aussies and Kiwi`s can drink safely and happily in a bar together and talk about the game. And when Australia play another team, kiwi`s will cheer for Australia. Sport and nationalism go hand in hand of of course, but there are different types of nationalism, some more mature than others I guess. |
