Who's your team gonna take?

This will go down as 1 of the most unpredictable draft in some time. All thanks to the Toronto Raptors and Bryan Colangelo. Brings a tear to my eye.

T, don't you think the Raps should look back to their drafting of Arujo and think twice before gambling on another Euro player?

I don't know much about Barganini (or whatever his name is); don't know much about any of the potential draftees, actually.

Do you think it's a gamble or a sure thing if they pick him?

How about Aldridge? Thomas? Gay?

Hoffa and Bargs arent comparable. Hoffa was a huge reach, he was playing aginst smaller, weaker and younger guys in the NCAA. Bargs has been playing a big role for Benetton in the Italian finals against former all-allericans and crafty vets. Ive only seen maybe 4 games of Bargnani. If Bargnani at 7'1' (and growing) and 245 (and growing) at 20 yrs of age COULD play center, then its a no brainer. Dude has some serious skills for a guy that size. Read an interview, dont think he wants to bang in the post.

Aldridge would be great, but hes already come out and said he prefers the 4.

Morrison is also has a shot. I like his game, but I like his attitude better. He has the potential to be one the better trash talkers in the league a la Larry Bird, Payton, Miller etc... he'll be able to back that up with his offensive repertoire.

My guy would be Rudy Gay. Hes the best fit and has one of the bigger upsides in the draft. Not good value at no.1 overall though, too many questions.

Id be happy with any of those 4, maybe even TT.

Also rootin for Denham Brown to get drafted by the Raptors (if he lasts) in the second round.

IN Colangelo I trust.

If he could become a dominant center that'd be terrific. I'm one of those people who longs for the 5 position to re-assume its past prestiege.

However, when I think of Euro centers, the best I can come up with in the past 20 years are Rik Smits and Ilgauskas. Good players, yes; but I'm not sure I'd want to build a team around them.

I know Morrison has been labelled as non-versatile, but he might be who the Raps need. The more I think about it, the more I believe he'd be a good complement to TO's frontcourt.

It's just too bad Oden couldn't have entered this year's draft.

Stern hates Toronto!

Very Happy

I love his attitude too, but err.. I dunno.. even though they don't play the same position, I see this pick as a "Big Country" Reeves type pick.. aka the death of the franchise..

Sabonis? Loved that guy!

Same same.

Oden would have been great but I still think the pick here is the Italian.. I see him trading down a few spots while getting a PG in return as well.. Those Brevin Knight rumours sort of make sense to me..

The only pg I want in this draft is Rojan Rando. This guy is a nightmare on the opposition.

I would absolutely love the Raptors to trade Villenueva for another pick in the lottery. Ideally a Gay and Bargnani would be a phenomenal draft for the Raptors. I truly believe we would make the play-offs with both of them.

But rumours are flying that Colangelo is targeting Marion or Ray Allen; making us an instant play-off team.

Plus he looks like he played in The Blue Oyster Cult in the 70's!

Portland just got #7 from Boston.

Rumour has it that they will try to package 4+7 for the Raptors no.1.

Yeah. For some reason, I thought he was Spanish. He played in Spain, right?

I was sorta upset with the Raps pick--true, this guy does have potential, but I would have traded down with Charlotte for the #3 (drafted Morrison) and Brevin Knight. That way, they get a pass-first PG, and have a nice inside-out game with Bosh-Nesterovich and Tha 'Stache. I think Morrison will have more of an impact this year than Bargnani. The Raps do have a lot of $ available, so hopefully they can lure in a big-name FA.
