Yes, I agree that the romanization was odd. But if I had written 'kae saeggi' some newbies might not have associated it with the word being sang in the song. If I recall correctly she isn't pronouncing "kae", but rather 'kuh'. Koreans rarely prounce it as written (in English anyway.)
Still, it was an odd attempt on my part. But writing "kae saeggi" would nae have helped either. |

| Does anyone have footage of that second goal scored by France against Korea? |

Jesus... what a sad display. The *players* actually doing the Ohno thing, though, is about as low an example of sportsmanship as I've ever seen on a field.
Let me, however, be a bit of an apologist: precious few Koreans actually play sports. There is no "sports culture" here, per se. Most of us actually grow up being involved in sports at least tangentially. Koreans don't. They actually have, those I've discussed it with, zero understanding of why any of the things their players or fans do are unsportsmanlike.
I have feared raising the issue of them chanting through the injury in the one match... |

Again, our lovely Japanese spending so much time on Korean affairs. I can't understand the last scene. Why they tried to put "F*ck You Japan" which is so obviously manipulated to undermine the credibility of the clip. Nice commentaries on tha page anyway. |

Ignorance of proper manners that is practiced throughout the sporting world is no excuse. Showing up the other team is not cool.
I really hope a Chinese athelete "screws over" Korea next. Like at the 2008 Olympics. I'd love to see their reaction to Big Daddy C next door. |

Dude, if all you can do is make excuses or attempt to distract from the point, why do you post? You're making the point even clearer, you d realize?
Let me put it this way: had an American team done something like the Ohno stunt, there's a good chance they would have been fined, benched if starters, or even held out of the next game. If I'd seen the Americans do that to tease the Koreans, I would have been irate and disgusted. In Korea? They get cheered.

Oh well, those things have been talked over and over and over. Nothing new. Why do I need to mention it again while everyone else's talking about it? I say what I want to say. I have seen many Real Reality type of Japanese stalking and doing all sorts available to make fun of Korea. I just find those Japanese a little annoying. Sometimes it seems they have legitimate claims but too often they go overboard and exaggerate. Let me assume you are from the US of A and a certain group of people keep making weird video clips about how disgusting and ignorant the whole country is, selecting the worst of the worst examples. Wouldn't you be a little fed up?

The thing is a majority of the members here are not Koreans. What you write about and focus on changes depending on your expected readers. |
