WITH A TWIST!
Son in NK Denies Abduction
Quote:
MT. KUMGANG _ Kim Young-nam, believed in the South to have been kidnapped to the North while he was 16, said yesterday he crossed the inter-Korean sea border ``by accident,'' denying allegations of abduction.
The explanation is an apparent repetition of Pyongyang's claim that it has not committed any abduction of South Korean citizens since the 1950-53 Korean War.
Kim also said that he has been living in the North ``really happily'' thanks to the North's ruling Workers' Party.

30+ years of indoctrination will do that. And of thats not enough, having your family threatened with either death or gulags will. What do you think would happen if he said something different than what he was told to say? |

They allow these meetings like it's some kind of wonderful gesture people should be grateful for, when what they need to do is let people who have been abducted come home for christs sake!

I just wonder what on earth you would say to your son after 28 odd years and after he has been been living in a country like North Korea. Would you be able to re-ignite that bond?

First of all, for my in-laws, they've never met the relatives they're visiting. Their son went to North Korea during the war. My father-in-law hardly even remembers him. The relatives they're meeting are total strangers. Are they all connecting? Judging by the media coverage, it's hard to tell. I'll let you know in a couple days.
