Just wondering..

Do you buy important beef from Australia or do you only buy grade one Korean female beef (as Costco proudly advertises).

I am not too fussy about which beef I buy, as long as it's fresh... So I am OK with buying Australian beef. Not to mention that it's half the price!

I'm not picky, and I'm cheap. Always look for 'hojusan.'

What do mean "ok with eating Australian beef" it is probably a whole lot better than Korean. Although New Zealand beef is consistantly rated the best or near the best in the world...

The Korean food industry is likely telling Koreans that their beef is best so that's why it's so expensive........and of course Koreans are quite willing to believe something from their country could be the best.

It must be so easy to sell Korean produce in Korea with the level of food nationalism that goes on here. Hallabong oranges anyone? Only 30 dollars for 12, yes, twelve, funny-shaped oranges.

Most Koreans don't buy beef. I don't even think they'd consider buying Australian beef. They just go without.

Aussie beef is fine for me. I'll bet it's better than beef from N.A. Let's face it. Our record has not been good recently.

I just wish Costco sold frozen beef patties. They should start now. I believe the N.A. beef ban has been lifted.

I think the idea is that local beef has never been frozen, thus better. Not genetically or whatever.
Back home, we'd buy in quantity and freeze it anyway, so fresh expensive Korean beef isn't interesting.
I've purchased and eaten it, but didn't notice anything special.

More than one of my Korean friends has told me that foreign beef is inferior because they keep the good stuff at home and export the lower quality beef to Korea. 'Everyone' knows this is true. That's why foreign beef is cheaper.

It's Argentina that has the best beef in the world isn't it? I've always found Korean beef a tad tough and certainly overpriced. The best beef I've had was in Japan and they import most of theirs from the US I think....so hopefully if this FTA thingy goes though things will pick up.

Only Aussie beef. Not as good a range as at home, but better than Korean beef. Smile

Heh heh- who voted that they only eat Korean beef?

I'm not paying 10,000 won plus for just a few ounces. Therefore, Aussie only.

I think for some Korean people, they subscribe to the be Korean, buy Korean thought principle.

Whatever gets you through the day...
