I am contracted to work at a camp this summer from July 24- Aug 24. My E2 visa expires on July 22. If I extend my E2 visa and ACR and obtain a release from my job (that sponsors my current E2 visa) can I legally work at the camp on an extended visa? Please any reply would be appreciated! Thanks
Oh, I will be extending my visa at immigration using a plane ticket, so I also need to show them my release letter? |

If the camp is being run by someone other than your sponsor of your E-2 and at a different location, you will, most likely, need a new E-2. You cannot work on one E-2 for a different employer than the sponsor.
However, you could have your boss go to immigration, extend it, and also add the location on as a 2nd place to work. That might be an option, but you'd have to look into it.
Also, you can only extend an E-2 for 30 days with a plane ticket out (and yours is over), and that's not allowing for any work during that period.
Basically, you'll need a new E-2 probably, unless I'm misunderstanding something.

For the 1 and 2 month summer camps you'll need a C-4 visa not an E-2.
Temporary employment
(C-4) An employment contract
Documents verifying the needs for employment such as ;
A letter of employment recommendation from Korean central government agencies ,or
A letter of performance recommendation from Korea Media rating Board (applicable to entertainers only) ,or
A letter of assistance |

Thanks for all the information. With the C4 visa, I would need to do a visa run, right? Hmmm.. I guess I will try and have my school extend my contract and extend my visa and add my camp as a place of work. Don't think that they will extend themselves like that, but worth a try.
Thanks!
