Gwangju is the largest city in the South-Western corner of Korea in the province of Jeollandamdo.
It has a population of around 1.5 million people.
There are over 500 foreign teachers living in the area and the place where they all meet up, listen to live music, eat, drink and be merry is a little pub downtown called "Mike and Dave's Speakeasy"

"Mike and Dave's Speakeasy" has been open in Gwangju for 6 months now and has built up a steady clientele of regular, satisfied customers. We try to bring fresh entertainment and events every week to keep people entertained and coming back.
We have a house band that plays Classic and Modern Rock every Friday night. However, we are always interested in booking new bands of any style and now we're even booking guest DJ's as well.

It's a slice of home in the middle of Gwangju, and the house band rocks.

I actually have been wondering how long it would be before you guys posted on here, but I guess the word of mouth has been doing pretty well.

Hey Music makers and fans,
Speakeasy in Gwangju had it's second out-of-town band come in and rock the joint. This time it was "Norton Scott and his Pong Hwa Mountain Boys" from Suncheon playing their brand of rockabilly country and western classics. The crowd loved it and the night was another huge success.
This is twice now that the band has brought in around 500 grand off the door take alone! We're still looking for other hot acts to come down to Gwangju and rock the roof off our place. If the cash is what's stopping you ask "Norton Scott" or "The Forty Days", they got paid!
