When I got here last year, I found a Korean brand of soy cheese. It wasn't 100% lactose-free, but it was at least edible. The stuff has disappeared from shelves: Carrefour quit selling it first, and now it's gone from the one market in Itaewon that I had come to rely on. Not sure if the Gangnam Wal-Mart still has it. Has anyone else seen the stuff here (black packaging, same company that also has a couple of soy milk offerings), or any other decent imitation? I can order most of the other food products I want or need online, but this one continues to elude me.

Pulling "soy cheese" from the shelves. Wow, that is a mystery.

I still see it at all my local shops--it's actually better than the "normal" Korean processed cheese on offer. But as far as I know, it's just dairy cheese with soybean thrown into the mix--more of the well-biiing fad...
