That link explains the national budget accurately
If you really want to get into it, start a thread about my link.
Meanwhile, a link is what's missing from all of your "news information".
And it's pretty obvious why. You're not getting that refuse from AP wires.
As far as I know, everyone else on CE posts links to their sources.
Why can't you, ya big baby? |
i agree with this post. |

my apologies to you, for as a leading cheerleader of America's decline, |
I am not saying America is declining. I think that is a "red herring", decline or progress. ......... doesn't mean much unless it is on the individual and proximate level.
What I do cheerlead is exposing some of the cracks and potholes in America. Especially in regards to her great values being trampled upon recently -- meaning Freedom and Rule of Law (Constitution).
I do agree that America is optimistic, America's general population and mythos. And that value is to be applauded. Just, she has to take the time to look. To look and do the right thing. Also look behind. She is like a horse without a rider at times...

Hmm the American renaissance.
The education figures from the government don't really tell the whole story. If it's such an excellent period in time for the USA, why do almost a third of all students in public high schools fail to graduate? African American students may well be doing better, according to the figures, but for African American and Hispanics the number who fail to graduate is almost 50%.
Taken from the April issue of Time magazine (YES AN AMERICAN MAGAZINE)
Story is here but you have to subscribe or log in to read the whole story
http://www.time.com/time/archive/preview/0,10987,1181596,00.html
In today's data-happy era of accountability, testing and No Child Left Behind, here is the most astonishing statistic in the whole field of education: an increasing number of researchers are saying that nearly one out of three public high school students won't graduate, not just in Shelbyville but around the nation.
For Latinos and African-Americans, the rate approaches an alarming 50 percent. Virtually no community, small or large, rural or urban, has escaped the problem.
There is a small but hardy band of researchers who insist the dropout rates don't quite approach those levels. They point to their pet surveys that suggest a rate of only 15 percent to 20 percent. |

oh time magazine.......
what a joke.
american public schools are not allowed to inquire of the citizenship of the kids that try to enrol.
Therefore, every Jose, Ricardo and Ignacio, as well as every Ji Hyun, Myung Hi, and Chul Won.....who are visiting their Uncle or Aunt in LA or Chicago has every right to show up at school, demanding a taxpayer funded education.
And when they return to South Korea, Mexico, or take a job somewhere, they are classified as "dropping out"...... |
