It appears that Dj Shadow is coming to Seoul!

Can someone translate this please:

I can't find anything on his website or pollstar.

It's just a review of Endtroducing.

There's also this, from his site:

Shadow here. We had to pull some shows (see tour
section). Why, you're asking? Because SOMEBODY
couldn't get their passport and isn't allowed to leave
the country due to...shall we say...certain
improprieties in the past.

Apparently dude's new single sucks the donkiest of donkey balls.

Has Shadow sold out? Check what he had to say about his upcoming album:

Quote:
In some ways it's a risky record. It's going to turn some people off. And I think I'll lose some fans.

Translation: My new label, Universal, wanted me to make the album more accessible (read: pop), and I complied.

I hope that's not really true, but, to quote Han Solo, I have a bad feeling about this.

I will expect a full report in the very near future.

According to riskei cyworld page.. they have the date set for the show on August 8th..all you trusty people with a calendar thats a tuesday.
He's playing at gayagum hall. Which with a little google search is at the sheraton. (I do believe its in the basement of walkerhill but don't quote me on that)

Thats all I got so far

Cheers and see u there

Whoa. I believe the reason no one was helping was that Sparkles had us convinced he wasn't coming. Is this a sure thing?

if you read the blog from shadow...it says that he won't be appearing in portegul or belgium. He has all his asian dates still set. (although seoul is not on there but this happened last time when tiesto came). Don't see why he couldn't make it into korea...

I've been a fan of Shadow for like 10 years now ever since hearing "What Does Your Soul Look Like" on a skate video back in maybe '96 and have liked pretty much everything I've heard up to and including "The Private Press" which survived at least 11 plays on my CD player (maybe more).

I just had a listen to the new single on his website and wow...big change. There certainly isn't much unique about that track. If this is his new direction...good luck to him. I hope he gets a lot of new listeners and makes some dollars. With a back catalogue like he has I don't think he owes us old fans anything.

I really don't know about this gig...It's going to be expensive I can tell you that much. Back home they're charging as much as they did for the Robbie Williams show, which is a bit insane. I've read Shadow's mainly doing new stuff at his live shows which is understandable but if the rest of his new material is like what I just heard, I'm leaning towards a pass. Still not too comfortable with this decision though. I remember I missed his show for the "Private Press" album and had to hear about how good it was for a long while after the gig.

I'll be trying to find out some more info and hear more samples of the new "Outsider" album before I make the final decision. Apparently it is quite diverse so maybe there are some gems in it.

I might end up just getting nostalgic listening to some old albums and watching that jawdropping scene from the 'Scratch' documentary again.

Oh yeah..just read he is touring with Mos Def which adds a bit of value.

Hey now, when did I say that the show wasn't happening? AllI said was that the original link was a review of Shadow's debut (which it is), and posted a quote from the man himself stating that some of his shows were canceled due to passport issues.

I never said the show wasn't happening.

I checked out his website no Korea date on there but there's a week gap btw Singapore and Japan dates so seems possible he could pop by Korea.
I saw his show in 2003 here it was great i'd just arrived in Korea and thought wow korea is gonna be wikkid dj/music wise but not really the case, shame!
