Firefox has been really slow and clunky as of late, doesn't work with a lot of Korean pages and it seems to shut down quite a bit. I just remembered how much I liked the browser by the name of SlimBrowser so I've downloaded that again and it's way better. Firefox is going to be my secondary browser from now on (I think).
Anybody else used SlimBrowser before? Also, what about Firefox shutting down all the time, is that just me? I only have three extensions added on so it shouldn't have been as bulky as it was.

I've never used slim browswer and my firefox has no problems with 17 extensions installed. THe best one being IE tab since that allows you to use IE within firefox and now Korean web sites work fine and I don't ever have to have IE opened independantly.

Slimbrowser is an IE shell program, so it will be far more useful with Korean pages than Firefox. These pages will see it as IE. Maxthon is another good one.

Firefox has been randomly crashing on me lately too. Whenever I get the error reporting window, I just move it offscreen and continue browsing. Then when I'm finished, I let it finish crashing.

Firefox.

I have no issues with Firefox right now, so I will stay with that. If I did choose a new browser, it would be a tossup between the two in question. They both seem to have shortcomings and great features, so it's 6 of one, a half dozen of the other.

I like Opera too but once again Korean pages always rendered weird. I wrote their CEO an email a few weeks back about what they should do to win the browser wars in Korea since IE doesn't have anybody's loyalty in particular. It was:
1)Make sure all Korean pages work with the browser,
2)Get Doumis to hand out free copies all day long for a week.

The only way I've had zero problems with Korean pages is if I've used 100% Internet Explorer. The shells, like Maxthon, block things that Korean sites need to run properly. Korean sites are almost entirely dependent on IE and require a lot of active x controls (not available with Firefox). You cannot shop online with anything but native IE. This is because of all of the security programs that need to be installed like Keycrypt and INCA and others.

I've been having great success with IE Beta 3. Really runs nicely.

I use firefox for everything OTHER than Korean sites, though. IE just ain't safe!

Okay, Maxthon seems to be better than Slimbrowser because it's never crashed on me and Slimbrowser has before when trying to play a Daily Show clip.

Firefox releasedtheir new beta a couple of weeks ago and is doing a general release to the public in September.

So far there are only a few things that I prefer on Firefox to this browser:
-typing in addresses in the bar - Firefox remembers which sites you've been to most often, so you only have to type out a few characters and it pops right up.
-when looking for racing girl pictures for the wiki some of them wouldn't save with a right click on Maxthon, so I got the url using Firefox.
-I have to make sure to use Ad-Aware because I get tracking cookies again.

Besides that it's preferable to the browser being all slow and shutting down, and I like the drag&drop a lot. It's great if someone's spammed the wiki a bit overnight and I just drag drag drag all the edits so I can delete the pages in a flash.
