has anyone been to both Thailand and Clark Field AC. I love to read so I can happily occupy myself in the daylight hours. Any comments about the place

Clark vs Thailand??????
Where in LoS?

Unless you luv the bar scene and the bar-girls in AC, I would scoot over to Subic ( Olongapo City ) - nice beaches, more relaxed, though harder to get around. Nothing better than sipping a cold one on a sandy beach enjoying a good read.

Or hop up to Bagiou if you like it cooler and the mountains.

"Book Sale" has used books at a 'reasonable' price. You might even find "lending libraries" (private library which let you rent books cheap).

If you love to read, then RP is a MUCH better choice than LoS.

Thailand is better. If you go to PI, go to Cebu.

Clark is essentially Angeles City.

Its a smallish town with 1000s of go-go girls - that basically is that city's economy. There are some western restaurants here and there with a few internet cafes.. but thats about it. No mall or movie theater or beach or really anything to do whatsoever during the day.

Honestly though, almost anywhere in the Philippines has bargirls and go-go clubs.. Angeles just has an extremely intensely high concentration of them. Would be much better to go just about anywhere else, and you can always find a go-go club/bar or 10 or more in any city in the Philippines.

Clark (or Angeles City) is basically Nana Plaza made into a small town with absolutely nothing else going on but that in that town.

Tiger Beer and others. Based on the feedback, I think I will stick with Thailand--I like variety and don't really like Go Go's.

Clark Air Force Base has a casino.
Also, you can rent a plane and pilot and get amazing views of Mount Pinatubo, the volcano that erupted in 1991.
But basically, Angeles City and those that go there turn their back on the base, rather focusing on swimming in the hotel pool by day, and go-go bar hopping by night.
