This guy deserves special note.

He "performed" at the haybongchun street party.

Covered in red.blue and white paint he smashed maybe about 10-15 watermelons on his head while hooting like a flock of seagulls (and i don't mean that hairstyle challanged band from the 80's)

what do you think art or just a big juicy mess?

I saw that movie and thought of it also when I saw this thread title.

There was another link to the Korean version of watermelon man on this site awhile back, and I watched the video it presented. The guy is a bona fide nutcase. Is it art? Well.. it seems anything can be art if you want to call it that, so the point is moot. Only thing true is that if I saw him running around doing that, I'd probably try to trip him.

I think a lot of people freak out when they him perform. Most people don't understand it. Hell, I don't think I understand it either. But it sure is a hoot.
I'll check out his performance anytime. Half the fun is watching the crowd reaction.

Is it art?
I'd say yes. I think the Dadaists would be impressed.

Is it entertainment?
Well, as I said , it sure is fun to watch.
He drew a large crowd and had traffic backed up a bit. Lance got to eat some of the watermelon off his head, other people were invited to smash them on his head. Sure seemed like everyone had a great time with it.

If ya ever get the chance to see it, I recommend it.

Oh, by the way, they did clean up the street after the show....

just in case you were worried about the mess.......
