Weird thing my I-station V43 started doing today. When I click on the "Video" icon it goes to System Power off. I was like wtf? I changed the battery but same thing happened. The weird thing is that the audio function works, in fact all the other functions work except video which makes it shut down. Luckily I was able to open "File Manager" and open my videos from there but still anyone shed any light on to a solution? I see a "reset" button on the bottom but I'm assuming I'll wipe everything (including the registered navigation mode) if I hit that. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.... |

The reset button won't wipe anything. It just turns the V43 off and on again. I've used it a few times.
I don't exactly know about the video icon making yours shutdown. Perhaps installing or re-installing the latest Bios and Firmware would help. That won't wipe any of your files either.
Or just take it to an i-station service center. |

The problem with i-stations is that they cost too much @ 600-700 000! Dish out a little more and you could get a nice notebook. Sometimes I wish I could part with my cash so easily
Really nice expensive toy, though. Gotta give it that. |

Usually if you just call a service center, they'll come to your location, pick it up and a/s in Korea is most often times free.
I'm also looking at an I-station and interested in what kind of problems other users have had with theirs. |

Well this morning on the shuttle bus ride here I clicked on the "Video icon" and it magically worked. My thinking is that going through the "File manager" might have cleared up the problem, who the hell knows? I will try and see if there is an update and download it. Thanks.............. |

what kind of notebook would you get for 600-700,000?
this is a genuine question because I'm thinking of getting v43
but you raise a point I hadn't reallly thought of |

the only notebook worth having would be a 10" maybe 12" screen otherwise it's too damn big. The problem with notebooks that size is that they cost about 1.7mill or more. |

Anyone considering purchasing a v43 might want to wait a couple of weeks until the new models with internal DMB receivers come out. |

Good point there.
I think it's called the T43 and will come with DMB built in.
For those who think they will want to watch a selection of about 8 Korean channels. So far there isn't an English channel being broadcast on DMB in Korea. I'm not really interested in DMB.....yet! |

Your best bet for an accurate troubleshoot on this would be to post your query on the Digital Cube bbs. |
