I'm trying to gauge how many people have to do summer camps.

I have to, but it's written into my contract.

It depends on what you mean by summer camp. This summer I'm leading a school trip. Last winter I taught extra morning classes at my school for three weeks. Does either count as 'camp' in your understanding of Konglish?

Yeah, I mean teaching during the summer vacation. I'm not taking the kids to Camp Granada or anything.

Yes, a 10 day camp at a local religious school. 7th and 8th graders from nearby country schools will attend. It's a 7 lesson-a-day grind with only one day of rest in the middle. 5 of those lessons are before lunch. At least I'll get paid extra for it, but not more than the 20k hourly rate in my contract. I can't wait. Rolling Eyes

2 weeks. About the only thing I don't like about summer camp is that there are not enough students in each grade who sign up to make what my principal considers a class. So the grade 1 and 2's are thrown together in one class, the 3's and 4' in another classroom and the 5's and 6's in yet another.

3 70 minute classes of VERY differing abilities. Joy is me. I usually end up making TWO lesson plans and teaching one to one half of the class (I separate them by grade) while giving the handouts from the second one to the other half. Then I time the lesson to finish halfway through the 70 minutes and give the handouts from the first one to the first half of the class, and then do the second lesson with the other half.

Not perfect...but it worked last year.

yes - two weeks of Summer camp run by the Jecheon City and 1 week for one of the schools I teach at...so 3 weeks in total. and the Jecheon city wants us there the Saturday as well.

I had to push to get a two week gap in the middle for a decent holiday...but I got it!

I am planning on using the best ideas from the City summer camp for the local school one....hope it works. Very Happy

A solid month of classes. Two 80 min classes per day. Lessons are totally up to me. Basically each class has 5 lessons so I'll make five lessons and just adjust and tweak for different grades. Movie lesson, Music lesson, Cultural Exchange lesson, Make a Newspaper lesson, Environment lesson etc. Packed with games and interactive material found online.

This was written into my contract, so I've nothing to moan about. In fact it should be more fun than regular classes, and without my co-teacher watching over my shoulder!

I have to but I'm not sure what and I'm not sure how many classes. So I'll come back to work on the 24th and have to teach something.
