Just curious if there are western guys that don't have "the fever" as my friends call it for all the koreans girls. It's not like I had the expectation that there would be tons of dating opportunities and I suppose it's natural because the grass is always greener. Are there hot korean guys that would love to date western girls? Does it go both ways? Just curious...

i agree with the jinj. people are people. you're attracted to some and not others. some korean girls are fit, some aren't and some westerners are fit, and some aren't.

To be frank, if a woman is overweight, then I am absolutely
not interested. I work very hard on staying in shape. I have
no attraction to people who "let themselves go". Sorry, but
that is a fact.

Not that every western women I have met is a wildebeest, but
there is also the weird defence mechanism that kicks in when
a western women comes to Korea and has all her illusions
shattered about being good looking. Korean women are HOT
and I think western women have to adapt to the new environment.

I think Korean women know how to attract men. They know how
to dress and how to act in order to produce the desired effects
from male suitors. They, Korean women, have not forgotten the
famous French saying: "Viva la difference".

I'm not sure if it's a fever............99% of the women here are Asian, so there's a much better chance of finding an Asian woman that I think is (physically) attractive, than a non-Asian...even though, there are a bunch of hot Brazilians around.

And so now, for let's say..mildly attractive women..., you're now competing with the western women who are more attractive than you, and all of the Asians who are attractive - and Korean guys usually laugh at some of the Koreans that we find attractive, but most of the girls are thin, have long hair, and have exotic features.

If you're not overweight, pleasing to the eye, and we have fun hanging out then I'd date you. Whether your korean, japanese, american, peruvian or whatever.

Most of the people I meet in this country seem to be Korean though, so when I'm single I often end up dating Koreans rather than foreigners. Maybe I should go hang out in Itaewon or something.. maybe then I'd meet more foreigners to date..

Also, there are tonnes of Korean guys who want a western girlfriend. As long as you're not overweight they're not even fussy either. As long as you don't mind being a trophy anyway.

This happened very early when I'd just arrived. Talking to "some" Western female friends:

You're not one of "those" guys into Korean women, are you?

Didn't we all come over here to open our minds?

Then, the same female friends go to soldier hang-outs to hook up with soldiers.

Bottom line: You didn't come all this way to become narrow-minded.

All combinations can work out. No need to judge.

I disagree with the theory that people are people. White girls feel different from Latino girls, who feel different from Hawaiians, who feel different from Koreans. That's the fact, afaict. Lately, I've actually preferred white.

If I get a girlfriend, it would be nice if she speaks Korean and knows something about Korea so that we can share some fun. It is your girlfriend and you have to talk to her in English all the time. Flirting in English? Me being a Fresh Off the Plane.. Headache.. he he..
