Soldier out the front of my hotel....it had been a bad day for car bombs so the cops have been very naziesque about parked cars


Ahmed Shah Masood poster. At one point about the only guy left fighting the Taliban. He's kind of the equivilent of an Afghan Che Guevara or at the very least Britney Spears....you see pictures of him everywhere. He was assasinated a couple of days before September 11th 2001 which these days is widely regarded as being the green light for the terrorist attacks to go ahead.

I was offered a uni job there back in December. Kinda glad I didn't take it with all that's been happening. If things ever cool down again I'd love to give it a try.
