I have seen a few on North Korea in Bandi and Luni's in COEX Mall. I think Kyobo in Gwanghwamun also has a few North Korean books.
There is also a documentary on North Korea coming up on Discovery channel. |

I have just finished reading "Under the Loving Care of the Fatherly Leader" by Bradley K. Martin, which I bought at Libro bookstore at Suwon station. I'm sure Kyobo will carry it too. It is a jaw-dropping read, and provides quite a comprehensive modern history of Korea into the bargain.
I strongly recommend it. |

Absolutely. By far the best book I've read on the subject. Prepare to put plenty of time into it though I'd also recommend Aquariums of Pyongyang, about a boy's experience in a North Korean concentration camp, and Comrades and Strangers, written by a British man who was a translator in NK for seven years.
I haven't read it, but I've heard good things about Pyongyang by... Guy Delisle or something like that? It's a graphic novel about his life there. |

I bought a book called "North Korea" by Bruce Cummings and I read a bit of it and it was f*cking terrible. I know its not fair to say that about a book if you don't read the whole thing, but the bit I did read was so incoherent. maybe i'll give it another shot someday.
If you want something to read for free, google "A Year in Pyongyang." It's about a guy who spent...well...you get it. |

The only book I read about NK was "The Aquariums of Pyongyang." It was really enough for me, to confirm what a messed up place it is. It is short too.
The newspaper on the internet is quite a joke too. |
