I always had a laptop...packing it was easy. Now I have a desktop that will need to be packed for my upcoming move. How does one pack a desktop computer? Does it matter if the, er, um, crap I don't even know what to call it.....the big boxy thing where you put in a CD or DVD, that thing....does it matter if it gets turned on its side or upside down? How much do the internet guys know about computers? My monitor is supposed to be able to act as a TV monitor...eliminating the need for an actual TV. But the guy I bought the computer from and who set it up could not figure out how to get that to work. I've even got two freaking remotes for my computer....no idea what they are for. Lots of extra wires and cords and things have been living in a drawer since I got this computer. Would the average internet hooker upper guy possibly be able to figure this out? And if not, where do I hire someone who could?

Argh....take things out?!?! I can't trust myself to do that kind of thing!

I'm not moving abroad, just to Seoul, but it looks like I'll be better off leaving it at Dawn's apartment and then going back and forth hauling it to Seoul myself, big box thingy on one trip, monitor on the next trip. Sad Blech....two hours just to get there. Blech.

A short move? Well...just move it, but be careful. Make sure to lay it on it's side (mainboard down) and it will be fine.

Yeah, a short move....from the boonies to the Gangwan area. But, the movers would put it in the back of their pickup truck with everything else...likely get bumped around a lot considering how the average Korean drives. Still safe?? *hopes so, but ready to have hopes dashed*

Well, wrap it up in a bunch of blankets, then put it in a box by itself, again, laying on it's side, mainboard down. Tape it up yourself with lots of padding inside. Don't let them pack it....do the box work yourself and carry it out to and in from the moving truck yourself.

Gangwon? Whereabouts?
