|
|
I'm going to EU this summer and, while I may not go RIGHT into switzerland, I will be REALLY tempted to try to find a t-shirt for myself with a nice swiss theme.
My question: When wearing a Swiss shirt on the subway, what do YOU think would happen?
Has anyone done it yet? It seems like it would almost be an extreme sport |

Since all sorts of weirdness is worn on t-shirts and no one at all pays any mind to it, I'd say you can wear anything you damn well please. If you are only doing it to provoke a reaction, you might want to buy the cheapest one available, because I doubt very much anyone will notice. |

If you do it, you have to make sure to walk around with that stupid look on your face that people make when they're doing something they expect will get reactions but try to play it cool like they're not. |

if you are trying to get yourself assaulted on the subway you would have had to do it in the first few games after the world cup.
The Swiss are old enemies now. It'll be back to the good old USA until someone new offends again. |

i have a swiss tshirt that i bought in interlaken a few years ago.
i wore my tshirt duing the swiss korea world cup game a few weeks ago. i actually went to a korean bar that night with my tshirt on, and surprisngly, people were sooooo friendly. they kept pouring me shot after shot of soju. it was actually really cool to see them being so nice.
i've worn the shirt a few times since that game, and i havent had any negative reactions so far. sometimes people will stare at it, and i hear them say to their friends 'swissuh aniya?'. but for the most part people are really cool about it.

I very much doubt you will get any hassle from Koreans for wearing a Swiss shirt. I would be very surprised if you did. |

You are all fricken wimps. Swiss shirt, bah. Walk around with a shirt of a tiny island with Takashima spelled out phonetically in Korean. Then I'll respect you |

Even Japanese tourists get treated well and friendly most times in Korea unless s/he's wearing a Takeshima t-shirt and put on a show. Just pretending to be a Swiss? Hmm.. If you stay too long here on Dave's, it seems the reality and the paranoia get all mixed up.. |

I'd like to see what would happen if someone wore an "I ♥ Osama" or "9-11: You deserved it!" t-shirt in any red state. |

Shouldn't it be blue state? It would add more strength to your posts to get your prejudices straight.

I used to wear that International Terrorist shirt with Bush's face on it in North Carolina. Not the most clever or original thing to do, but anyway.. it was fun to see the reactions. A lot of old people would come up to me and be like, "Oh what a lovely picture of President Bush.. what does it say?" And I'd straighten it out so they could read the words... "Well I don't like THAT at all!!! But the picture's nice~" Even with the tilde and all, no shattin ya.
