ok, i'm edmund and i'm very new at this. In a way, i feel completely alone right now, with no one watching my back. So here's my situation. i filled out the application and emailed all the required documents to the ATC recruiters at the end of June. It's July 19th now, and i still have not heard ANYTHING from them (via phone/or email). i've tried to contact them via email several times, but no one is responding. i read that they have a quick response time, but i'm definately not seeing it. was this due to the fact that they don't like me? will they always respond to emails? what should i do? has anyone else experienced this? any helpful hints from anyone out there? Thanks.

ATC was not good about contacting me either, so I found a job without them.

I agree contact as many recruiters as you can. At the same time, be ready to get bombarded (and no I'm not kidding) with emails. If you talk to a few on the phone, let them know specifically what your looking for. If they aren't willing to help, then say no thank you and goodbye.

Also I would have contacted them just to make sure they recieve your info. Like I have said before I had a good experience with ATC. It is possible they are overwhelmed with applicants right now. Sometimes you have to take the initative to call.

Same thing here with ATC. I even emailed my stuff twice. BUT! Try your luck with other recruiters. It may take a few days, but you will get some news. Also, you really shouldn't stick with only one recruiter. Just email any that you think has something that might interest you, and even if you don't think they do.

I agree with what other posters have said. Definately send your resume to as many recruiters as possible...even if you don't think they'll have a job you like--you never know. I worked with ATC and was very happy with them and my job placement, but I sent my application to bunches and bunches of other recruiters. Get your resume out there, see who comes with some jobs, and then out of what you get choose what you like best. And you don't have to take the the first thing that comes along..unless there's some circumstance you're not telling us--like you're a convicted felon

That's how I felt about it. Plus, I figured that if they couldn't handle CALLING someone, how on earth could they be responsible enough to find me a decent job? It all worked out anyhow...with no help from them. So, I guess I'm maintaining my record of never using a recruiter. Very Happy

For me so far, ATC have been the most responsive recruiter *big thumbs up* just waiting for them to offer me jobs.

thanks for all your insights on finding a job in Korea. i did what many of you said, and sent my resume to other recruiters. i got a quick email response from dreamwiz.com and a phone call from peoplerecruit.com immediately. but, it's been two days since, and it's kinda scaring me again that no one is responding. maybe because it's a weekend...but thanks again for those who responded.

Just got off the phone with the ELI Academy director, Sarah. Anyone know anything about this school? i got the wake up call at 6:30am (PST) Sunday morning, and i'm not even sure if i did a phone interview or not. What are some usual questions for a phone interview? or at least, what are you suppose to talk about during a phone interview. Half the time, i'm trying to understand what they're saying, and the other half, they're trying to understand what i'm saying. i'm a bit on the worried side, not because of the situation, but rather will they offer me a job? i have lots and lots of questions before i say yes to any contract, but it's just a bit difficult asking them. did anyone go through the same dilema i have? help me someone....help me. thanks a lot though.

well, here are some questions i had in mind for some of the recruiters and schools....maybe some of you guys can help me answer them.

- how soon will i know if i get the job or not? will it be a last minute thing, or will i get advanced notice? (i just wonder because i kinda want to send a big box of my stuff to my apartment so it will be there by the time i get there).

- i have questions about some of the cities within korea...such as, will there be stuff to do there on my own such as site seeing.

- i noticed that many of the signs there are written in Korean, are there areas where there are English writing used (probably where the US Army bases are).

- will the apartments have internet access? (this is probably gonna be my main source of communication to the states, so it's kinda important to me).

- are there people who speak fluent English while i'm down there? with all respects, i'm a foreigner going into their country, so i should know Korean (but i plan on learning it while i'm down there) but i'd feel a tad bit more comfortable there with English speakers.

so yeah, these are just a few questions i have. i have more, but i don't want to throw it all there right now. thanks for those who have been supportive.
