| Is this okay to do at a public place like the subway. This girl motioned for me to take off her headphones and she started talking to me. She had a sexy British accent. Like an idiot, I got off at my stop without getting any way to contact her. Would asking for her number have been okay? |

It's fine. It's also safer in a way to give your phone number before you leave. That way you don't have an embarassing episode if she isn't interested, as she can just lie about calling you while asking for her number can put her in an awkward situation. Though, there are some crazy English speaking girls out there, and you should be careful giving out your number |

I'm still a newbie without an ARC and without a cell phone so I couldn't give her my #. Yes, I am an idiot. I guess I will have to get used to hot girls approaching me. It caught me off guard. |

That's okay. The best way to get a person's number is just to take their cellphone and punch in yours, and then you have it. Well, after you get your cellphone that is.
Even easier than asking for a person's number is asking for their Cyworld page. You can get one of those now with just a scan of your passport. |

That's true. I had 500 printed up for 30 000 won, so it's not much at all. |

more info on why it's easier to get a cyworld now please! |
It's easier because 1)it's not as intrusive / forward as a phone number which makes it easier to get (even though phone numbers aren't especially difficult) and 2)you stand out as a foreigner with a Cyworld page.
It's also better because you can get an idea of what the girl is like both from her site and the people that leave messages there. |

A friend had a guy try this on her. Guy on a bus, slightly drunk, asks to borrow her cell phone to make a call. Not an unusual request in Korea. She gives him her phone, watches him to make sure he doesn't call China. Anyway, no answer, so he gives her the phone back.
Next day he called her. He called his own cell to capture her phone number. |
