Given floods here, unusual weather all over the world, a heatwave killing over a hundred people, most of us figure it's pollution and human influence causing this. Am I right?

I believe in driving a small car, and then driving it as little as possible. I use public transportation as much as I can.

Are you someone who rejects the established culture? And do you advocate extreme liberalism in politics and lifestyle? If so, then yes.

That doesn't make you a hippy, it makes you a realist.

Did you see the discovery channel docu last week on "global dimming"? There are 10% less sunrays reaching the earths surface now than 30 years ago. its had a serious destabilising effect on our climate.

I guess I may be viewed that way since I actually care about the environment in a country where almost no one does.

Concerned about your hippiness? Let's take an inventory.

Do you own:

1) A VW van
2) No less than 6 books on finding "The Goddess" (do you know who "The Goddess is?)
3) No less than 2 tie dye shirts (sp?)
4) Pachuli
5) A garment or handbag from Thailand (or southeast asia)
6) A car that runs on cooking oil
7) A greenpeace membership
9) a 17 year old pipe/ a 10 year old bong
10) MORE than 30 candles
11) MORE than 15 vegan cookbooks
12) at LEAST 2 Yoga VHS tapes (DVDs don't cut it...betamax may..)
13) several pieces of crappy art that you have "given birth to"
14) No less than 5 pieces of crappy/inspiring art that was given in lieu of payment (for anything...)
15) MORE THAN 1 kilo of Tofu in your fridge
16) more than 100 books (NO NYT best sellers)
17) Coucous (instead of rice...cause it's healthier...)
1Cool A phonograph (and albums....AT LEAST one of the following: The Band, Bread, The Doors, Hair (the musical), Jimi Hendrix)

Do you NOT own:
1) a DVD player
2) mp3 player
3) a TV
4) a Lexus
5) more than 8 pairs of pants
6) A clean shirt (or a shirt with buttons)
7) Meat
Cool A Pair of Rayban sunglasses
9) Anything with a brand name (Nike)
10) a computer with internet access.

So basically, if you are reading this post, you're probably not a hippie (unless one of your computer savvy smoke buddies from community college is showing you how to use the "interweb")
