Anyone have trouble getting an E2 after being here as tourist for a long time? I worked a year contract on an E2 here last year. Now I've been on tourist visa here for 9 months. Will be heading home for two months soon, then hope to come back and work here in 2 months. Have heard stories about visa denials... any word?

It can happen. We tried to hire a teacher who had been in Korea for some time on tourist visas. He had taught on E2 visas at hogwans and at times he taught on tourist visas at hogwans. He also spent time on tourist visas with no job except privates. He came to our school and wanted a job. We told him no one works at our school until they get an E2 visa. Immigration refused to give him an E2. They said he had obviously been teaching illegally somewhere, even though they had never caught him. I think he's teaching in Taiwan now.
