the organizers are hoping to make this an annual event. check out the website for more info. these are the same people who brought oasis here in february and they are trying to bring more groups with international appeal to korea. don't hesitate to call the number listed on the website as most of the office staff can speak english quite well. if you have any other questions, feel free to email me, as i'm helping the company out on a part time basis.

I'm going on Friday only to see Jason Mraz. I've gone through four or five CDs of "Live at Java Joe's." Awesome! Does anybody have directions on how to get to the festival?

We're heading up for Sunday's show. I soooo wish I could get out of teaching Friday night to see The Yeah Yeah Yeahs. Ah well, Franz Ferdinand will do nicely.

Edited to add: Can anyone give us a clue about transportation to/from the festival, from Seoul? i.e., will it be relatively easy for us to take the subway to the show? This will be our first trip up to Seoul. Thanks.

...spent two years in korea, moaning about the lack of a proper music scene, and what happens when i leave?

becka - the shows in incheon. you can ride the incheon subway from seoul, get off at dongmak and get a cab to the festival. it looks like its in the songdo area, so it isn't far in a cab.

Three "white American boys" did what??

Quote:
But during Black Eyed Peas’ session, three white American boys, who settled up in the middle of front audiences, chilled the mood by slamming each other against other audience’s members. They were frowned upon as most of the Korean audiences preferred to jump peacefully on their own.

How does the reporter know they weren't Aussies? And at what age do we stop calling them "boys" and start calling them "men"? I read that and thought "10-yr-olds??" And finally, yes, I agree completely: Koreans prefer to jump peacefully on their own. This is the veritable "Land of Peaceful On-their-own Jumpers". "No group jumping, please. We're Korean."

I would think so.

BTW, Beej, did you PM me about getting originals of the Chinese posters I've been posting? I got a PM from someone, was planning to reply w/info later, and then when clearing out my Inbox, I inadvertently deleted some posts I meant to keep. All I remember is the poster's name started with a "B". Sad
